Stoke v Chelsea betting tips, predictions and preview for this weekend’s Premier League clash and the team news.
Chelsea will be without their manager for Saturday’s visit to the Britannia Stadium as he serves his one match stadium ban for abusing the referee at half-time of his side’s 2-1 loss at West Ham a fortnight ago.
Stoke v Chelsea Predictions
The Blues at least go into the clash off the back of a victory after beating Dynamo Kiev thanks to a late Willian wonder goal and will look to record back to back wins for the first time since the end of September.
Stoke enter the fixture having already beaten Chelsea this season thanks to a penalty shootout success in the round of 16 of the Capital One Cup. Mark Hughes’ men have been in indifferent form in the Premier League, but will go into Saturday’s clash full of confidence knowing they can topple Jose’s team.
The Potters currently sit 14th in the table, just a solitary place and two points above their opponents at the weekend. However, defeat at home to Watford in their last outing at the Britannia and also drawing a blank against Newcastle doesn’t fill me with confidence that they can repeat their cup heroics of last week.
I expect the Stoke boss to recall Mame Biram Diouf to the Stoke City starting line-up against Chelsea after the Senegalese striker was left out of the trip to St James’ Park last week. Having failed to score in their last two league matches, it would be a surprise to see their Premier League top goalscorer on the bench again. Marc Muniesa and Shay Given remain on the treatment table, while Chelsea loanee Marco Van Ginkel is ineligible to play against his parent club.
The Potters have only managed nine goals in 11 league fixtures so far this season – fewer than any other side. That lack of goals would really worry me if I was a Stoke supporter, and as a result I am going to predict a Chelsea victory as my first tip at odds that certainly odds entice me to have a flutter this weekend.
My first prediction for Stoke City v Chelsea this weekend is Chelsea to win, the best odds are 11/10 with Coral.

Barring the long term absentee Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea are near enough full strength for Saturday’s tie, which is live on Sky Sports 1 at 5.30 pm. Radamel Falcao and Branislav Ivanovic are also side-lined, but that is a blessing in disguise given their form this campaign!
In Wednesday night’s win over Kiev, Willian was once again Chelsea’s star of the show, scoring his fifth free kick of the season (and we are have only just reached November!) While the likes of Hazard and Fabregas have failed to perform, the Brazilian midfielder is in the form of his life and will fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet again at the weekend. You can get Willian at odds of 10/1 with Stan James to score first and 4/1 with the same bookmaker to notch at any time, which is my second tip for this match.
My second Stoke City v Chelsea betting tip this weekend is an anytime goalscorer and the in-form Willian at 4/1 with Stan James.
My final selection may not be to everyone’s fancy, especially given Chelsea’s horrific defensive displays of late. However, it is more because of the fact that Stoke looked as though they couldn’t hit a barn door in their last two games, so I am backing Chelsea to win to nil on Saturday.
My final Stoke v Chelsea prediction is for Chelsea to win to nil and the best odds for this third bet are 5/2 at Bet Victor.
