Republic of Ireland v Germany betting tips and Euro 2016 predictions for Thursday 8th August with free football tips.
Having to beat the World Champions to stand any chance of qualifying for Euro 2016 is not a task that any country would relish. Unfortunately for Martin O’Neil, that is exactly what his Republic of Ireland side must do on Thursday night at the Aviva Stadium.
Rep of Ireland v Germany Betting Preview
Ireland currently sit third in Group D with 15 points – four points behind leaders Germany, but more importantly only two points adrift of second place Poland.
The Boys in Green know that a victory against the World Champions would secure a play-off place at worst, but anything less could destroy their hopes of travelling to France next summer.
With the Germans only needing a single point to seal qualification for Euro 2016, I’m sure the Irish fans are praying that Joachim Low’s side let their foot off the gas slightly, especially as they face Georgia at home in their final fixture on Sunday evening.
Regrettably, I cannot see that being the case for my football betting tips. Low will want his team to wrap up qualification at the earliest possible opportunity to enable him to rest some key players in the clash against Georgia and potentially give a few fringe players a run out. However, as you will see from one of my football tips, I can still see Ireland getting something from the game!
Republic of Ireland v Germany Betting Tips
Lukas Podolski is likely to miss out for Germany with an ankle problem, but star striker Thomas Muller is fit to lead the line and will be looking to add to his impressive tally in qualifying. The Bayern Munich forward has bagged eight goals in seven qualifiers and for that reason the first tip simply has to be the in-form striker to score the first goal.
My first football prediction for Republic of Ireland v Germany is for Thomas Muller to score first, the best odds are 4/1 with Coral.

Martin O’Neil has been talking up his side this week, insisting they do not fear the challenge. In all fairness, Ireland did secure a famous result at the Arena AufSchalke back in October 2014 when John O’Shea, celebrating his 100th cap, equalised in the 94th minute, sending the away fans into raptures. The final score on that was 1-1 and I have a sneaky feeling that Ireland could pick up a point on Thursday with a repeat of that score. The point would be enough for Germany and would edge Ireland that little bit closer to securing a play-off spot. Realistically it is going to be hard to catch Poland, so the aim has to be staying ahead of Scotland in the race for third spot.
My second Republic of Ireland v Germany prediction is for the correct score to be 1-1, the best odds are 17/2 with Bet Victor.

Ireland will be desperately hoping that Seamus Coleman and Wes Hoolahan pass fitness tests ahead of kick off, while Robbie Keane is available despite missing training on Tuesday following the birth of his second child.
So time for my final free football betting tip ahead of the Euro 2016 qualifying, I have thought long and hard about the best bet on offer and have come to the conclusion that I believe the game will be all square heading into half-time. The last time the sides met it was 0-0 at the break and with the magnitude of Thursday’s tie, I can see it there being very few chances in the early stages.
My third Republic of Ireland betting tip is for the half-time result to be a draw, the best odds are 13/10 with William Hill.
