Football Accumulator Tips 23rd April
Aston Villa v Southampton – Southampton to win
We begin this weekend’s accumulator tip in the Premier League. It has been a season to forget for Aston Villa. Just three victories all campaign and relegated before the end of April wasn't what the Villa fans were expecting. Unsurprisingly they look like a side with no confidence after a run of nine straight defeats and I wouldn’t bet against it being ten this weekend. Southampton have had another good season under Ronald Koeman. They are set for a second consecutive top half finish and are on the verge of qualifying for Europe. They have lost only one in their last six and that was against top of the table Leicester. They also have the third tightest defence away from home in the league and if they can produce another strong defensive display on Saturday they will surely have more than enough going forward to nick a goal or two and take the three points.
New account offer: 16/1 for Liverpool, Chelsea and Southampton to win at PADDY POWER.
Liverpool v Newcastle – Liverpool to win
Newcastle are another club who have spent the season at the wrong end of the table. They are currently two points from safety but will be looking to build on the four points that they have gained from their last two matches. One of The Magpie's main problems this season has been scoring goals away from St James' Park. Just ten goals on their travels in seventeen matches is just not good enough and is the lowest amount in the league. They have shown improvements in recent weeks but I think that Rafa Benitez will find it tough to take anything away from his old club. Liverpool have had a disappointing season by their standards but things are starting to look better under Jurgen Klopp. The Charismatic German has his team playing some good football and they have won their last four matches in all competitions. The Reds are still six points adrift of the a Champions League spot and while that may be a step too far they can add some pressure to the teams above them with another victory.
Charlton v Brighton – Brighton to win
We continue this weekend’s football accumulator bet in the Championship. Brighton have without doubt been the surprise package in the league this season. After finishing their last campaign fourth from bottom they have improved dramatically under Chris Houghton. They started the season with 21 matches unbeaten but then went through a really bad spell that saw them slip away from the promotion race. However, a recent run of six wins in seven have seen them move up to third spot in the table and only outside of the automatic promotion places on goal difference. In their last two matches the Seagull's have found the net on nine occasions and they should be too strong for already relegated Charlton. The Addicks have had a poor season and will be playing in League One next season. They have the worst home record in the division and I can't see that improving against a side with their intentions fully focused on promotion to the Premier League.
New account offer: 10/1 for Liverpool to beat Newcastle at BETFAIR.
Bury v Millwall – Millwall to win
The League One promotion race is hotting up with no promotion position decided yet. Millwall are right in the mix and could almost guarantee themselves a place in the play-offs with a win this weekend. The Lions have consistently climbed the table since November and are looking a good bet to return to the Championship at the first attempt. Bury have had a very up and down since they got promoted from League Two last term. The Shaker's started the season well and looked like they could possibly achieve back to back promotions. They then had a mid-season slump that saw them win just four times in sixteen matches and look more like a club about to fight relegation. They have now achieved enough points to survive and will fight another day in League One next time around. With Bury now having nothing to play for Millwall should have the extra motivation and that should be enough to see them take the points.
Luton v Newport County – Luton to win
We conclude this weekend’s accumulator bet in League Two. Newport County have struggled this season and looked in real danger of relegation at the start of the campaign. However, they managed to pick up and thanks to the poor form of National League bound Dagenham & York, Newport can look forward to another season in League Two. Luton Town were one of the pre-season favourites for the title but their season has never really got going. They have struggled to find consistency and promotion looked out of the question just a couple of weeks ago. It is still unlikely that the Hatter's will reach the play-offs but they have now given themselves a fighting chance. Three victories in a row have put them just six points away from the top seven and if they win their last three matches they could just about give themselves a chance. Any dropped points and that dream is over so I expect Luton to be fighting more than ever for the victory this Saturday.
