Weekend Accumulator Tips 14th May

Atletico Madrid v Celta Vigo – Atletico Madrid to win

For this weekend’s accumulator tip we are going on a European tour that starts in Spain. Atletico Madrid had a shocking result last weekend that ended their dream of winning the title. However, the Champions League finalists still have a chance to finish above their city rivals Real Madrid and that should be enough motivation for them to take the points. Atletico have lost just once at home in the league all season and have conceded just seven goals in that time. They have also won six on the bounce on their own patch and will want to go into the Champions League Final with another victory under their belt. They face a Celta Vigo side who have had a very good campaign. They are in 5th position in La Liga after a run of just one defeat in nine matches. However, in five games against the big three this term Celta have lost all five and conceded 22 goals so a home win looks like being the best bet.

AC Milan v Roma – Roma to Win

We continue this weekend’s bet in Italy. Roma have had a very strong campaign and have comfortably finished in the top three in Serie A. They are ten points clear of the fourth placed Inter and will want to finish their season on a high. The Romans are just two points behind second placed Napoli and a win could see them finish second and head straight into the Champions’ League group stages. AC Milan have had a poor season by their standards and will be looking for huge improvements next time around. They have been off the pace all season and have only won twice in the last ten outings. They are also winless in their last four matches at the San Siro which doesn’t bode well for this weekend. A big rebuilding job is needed over the summer for AC to come back stronger next season but they look like ending this campaign with a whimper.

Bayer Leverkusen v Ingolstadt – Bayer Leverkusen to win

More often than not the Bundesliga is a two horse race between Bayern Munich and Dortmund and then there is a race on for third. This season the best of the rest has been Bayer Leverkusen. Before last week’s defeat Leverkusen had been on a seven match winning run in the league which helped them secure third position and a place in next seasons Champions League. Their opponents Ingolstadt have had a fantastic couple of seasons. Last season they won the German second tier title and achieved promotion to the Bundesliga for the very first time in their history. They have over achieved all season long and currently sit in mid-table. The only negative from this season would be the difficulty they have had scoring goals away from home. Just nine goals in sixteen matches is the lowest in the league and Leverkusen should be able to take advantage of that weakness and secure the win.

Guingamp v Nice – Nice to win

Nice are another club dreaming of playing Champions League football next season. Just ten years ago they were in all sorts of difficulties both on and off the field and were miles away from achieving anything like this. They have reached new heights this term and a win on Saturday could see them achieve their dream. To do that they must win and hope that Monaco fail to beat Montpellier. They take on a Guingamp side who after a difficult start to the season have managed to comfortably avoid being dragged into a relegation fight. Guingamp can look forward to another season in the French top flight but may not be able to match the motivation of their opponents this weekend. If Nice hitman Hatem Ben Arfa can add to his seventeen league goals they should have enough to come home from Brittany with the points.

Troyes v Marseille – Marseille to win

We finish this weekend’s accumulator bet with another match from Ligue 1. Troyes have had a dreadful season and have known their fate for some time now. They have only managed three victories in the league all campaign with just one of those wins coming at home. They have conceded a huge 82 goals all season which is massive 24 worse than the second weakest defence in the league. Troyes are on a current run of ten loses in eleven matches. That run included a sole destroying 9-0 hammering at the hands of Champions PSG. They face a Marseille side who have also had a poor season by their standards. A bottom half finish for Marseille isn't acceptable for a club of their stature and they will be hoping for better next season. They should still have more than enough quality to finish the season on a high and take the three points on Saturday.
