France are the favourites to win Euro 2016 and our Euro 2016 tipster is confident that the hosts can go all the way to the final, but will France win the tournament?
France go into the summer with a real chance of having a successful Euro 2016 and I wouldn't bet against them appearing in the final in Paris on July 10th. They have got one of the strongest squads in the tournament which boasts many Premier League stars such as striker Anthony Martial of Man Utd and Tottenham shot stopper Hugo Lloris. Add to that the experience of Patrice Evra, the strength of midfielder Paul Pogba along with the goals of Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann and it's difficult to argue with them being the bookmaker’s favourites to lift the trophy.
France to win Euro 2016 Tip
Some may question that France haven't had the experience of playing a competitive match in two years but that hasn't stopped them from being successful in the past. History gives them a great chance to win the tournament with Les Bleu's winning the last two major finals (Euro 84 & World Cup 98) that have been held in their home country. France are unbeaten at home in those two competitions having played 12, winning nine in 90 minutes while going through to the next round twice in extra time and once having to survive a penalty shoot-out against Italy in the quarter finals of France 98. They thrive in front of their home fans and turn on the style scoring a massive 29 times across both tournaments and they will be looking to do the same this time around.
France were fortunate when the draw was made for Euro 2016 coming up against Romania, Albania and Switzerland in Group A and while I’m sure it won't be easy, it would be a huge shock if they were not able to navigate their way to the second round. In the two tournaments mentioned above they won all six group matches and if they did the same this summer then they would top the group and hopefully give themselves an easier tie in the round of 16. Once through the group stage France should be full of confidence and as long has injuries and suspensions haven’t taken their toll and they will be a team that no other nation will want to face in the knock out stages.
For my best Euro 2016 prediction this summer I do believe that we will be seeing Didier Deschamps squad having a great summer and going all the way to the final. They have great strength in depth and ten years on from losing the World Cup final on penalties to Italy they look to be in a position that could possibly see them being crowned European Champions for a third time after winning in 1984 and 2000. I predict that they will face Belguim in the final in what would be a final blessed with quality and great players with the home nation just coming out on top.
