Wolves vs Birmingham Betting Tips and Predictions

Wolves vs Birmingham predictions and betting tips for the Championship on Sunday 13th March 2016 including a result prediction and anytime goalscorer tip.

There’s a Midland’s derby as part of a Championship double on Sunday afternoon. We’ve picked out the best football bets from Molineux

Wolves v Birmingham Predictions

Birmingham followed up their sensational win over promotion hunting Hull with a limp loss at Blackburn. Gary Rowett wasn’t too critical of his side though as Ewood Park is a very tough place to go these days. Lack of cutting edge was blamed for Birmingham’s failure to pick up any points in midweek but they are still in the play-off picture.

They face Wolves, who have had a strange season. A slow start, an improved middle and then they’ve just dropped off the pace again. Injuries have been an integral part of their disappointing campaign and it’s never easy to bounce back from losing your main goal threat pre-season, but it’s also made them difficult to predict.

Beating Derby here in their last home match was an important three points and helped ease the unrest around Molineux. The dedicated home fans haven’t had too much to cheer as they’ve largely been better on their travels, but perhaps the victory over the Rams is a catalyst for a decent home run.

Promisingly for the home faithful, Birmingham’s away form has been a bit lacklustre recently having not won any of their last four matches and picking up just two points during that run.

Since losing Demerai Gray to Leicester and the injury interruption to David Cotterill’s season, Clayton Donaldson has lacked a bit of service as their main striker and it’s something that Rowett has flagged up himself in press-conferences. They’ve only scored three goals in their last seven matches and have a season total of just 40. That’s the second lowest total in the top 10 of the Championship with only Preston netting fewer times. They’ve also failed to net in any of their last four away games, which is a real worry for Blues fans.

Wolves have scored 45 goals this season and hit six in their last seven, so they’ve been better recently. Both these sides have been scoring fewer than they should in recent weeks, but the hosts have scored five of those goals in the last three matches, including one against Middlesbrough.

Wolves have a perfectly symmetrical home record with six wins, six draws and six losses this season. They have picked up seven points from a possible 12 though and I think that should be enough to edge this. The first of my Wolves v Birmingham prediction is Wolves to win.

There’s a decent looking bet available with Coral for this match. They’re offering 9/5 that Wolves will score 2+ goals in this game. Considering that Kenny Jackett’s men have scored in each of their last four matches and have done so twice in three of them, I think this looks a decent prospect. Also, Birmingham have conceded twice in each of their last two away matches at Blackburn and QPR which makes this bet a decent one.

My second Wolves v Birmingham betting tip is for Wolves score 2+ goals. It can be backed at 9/5 with Coral.

CORAL OFFER – Get 8/1 for Willie Mullins to train ANY Cheltenham winner.

Championship predictions

Wolves lack of firepower was something which troubled them earlier in the season and although Joe Mason has been drafted in to help solve that problem, he’s not consistent enough at the moment. Michael Zyro has added some from wide positions, but it was George Saville who popped up twice against Derby and I think he can strike again here for my anytime goalscorer tip this weekend. My third Wolves v Birmingham prediction is for George Saville to score anytime. He can be backed at 13/2 with Stan James.
