Football Accumulator Tips on Saturday

Southampton v Spurs – Spurs to win

We start this weekend’s accumulator tip in the Premier League. Tottenham suffered only their second defeat of the campaign last weekend against lowly Newcastle so they will want to bounce back on Saturday to keep in touch with the top four. This won't be easy for Spurs but if Harry Kane is on form then they should have just about enough quality to take the points. Southampton are having quite an inconsistent season. It was always going to be difficult to match last season’s achievements but connections must be disappointed to find themselves in the bottom half. They have lost three of their last four and look low on confidence. this should be a good game between two teams who need a win and I fancy Tottenham to come out on top.

Ipswich v Derby – Derby to win

This is another tough match to call between two sides who have been in good form. Both of them won on Tuesday evening to cement a place in the top six. However, while Ipswich would be delighted to finish in a play-off position, I think that Derby have aspirations of finishing the season as Champions and I wouldn't bet against them achieving that. The Rams have lost just once on the road all season and that defeat was their only loss in 16 league matches. Ipswich have started to pick up after an autumn slump thanks to last season’s top scorer Daryl Murphy finding his goal touch again. They have also found it difficult to win in front on their own fans this term recording just three wins in ten so for me Derby look like the safest bet in this one.

Rotherham v Hull – Hull to win

Hull achieved promotion to the top flight just three years ago. They proved to be an eventful two seasons that included an FA Cup Final, European football and sadly relegation back to the Championship. Cleverly the board stuck with manager Steve Bruce and that could turn out to be a masterstroke. Hull had gone 11 league matches unbeaten until recent defeats to Derby & Leeds. They have since found that winning formula again and should have too much quality for struggling Rotherham. The Millers currently occupy a relegation berth and suffered a loss to Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield on Tuesday. They also have the worst home record in the division having lost six out of ten on their own patch. Manager Neil Redfearn will try to make them difficult be beat but I fancy Hull to have the class to take all three points.

Blackpool v Peterborough – Peterborough to win

We continue this week’s footy accumulator bet in League One. Peterborough currently find themselves in a play-off position and promotion to the Championship has to be their aim for the season. They will want to get back to winning ways after last weekend’s frustrating 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury and I wouldn’t back against them doing just that. Blackpool have improved in recent weeks and now sit just outside the relegation zone thanks to two 1-0 wins on the bounce. Confidence is improving for The Tangerines but they are struggling to score goals. They have found the net just 17 times all season and when you consider their opponents have scored 47 you can see where the problem lies for Blackpool. This could be close but if Posh get their noses in front, I can’t see Blackpool pegging them back.

Coventry v Oldham – Coventry to win

We finish this Saturday’s accumulator tip with Coventry City. They are currently second in the table after a run of just a single defeat in twelve League One matches. Experienced manager Tony Mowbray has his team playing well and the fans are dreaming of a first promotion since 1967. They face an Oldham side who are desperately trying to avoid relegation to League Two. Sadly for the Latics it is a battle that they are losing at present as they find themselves just one place off the bottom of the league. They do have hope in that they have quite a strong away record this term. However, they travel to a Coventry side who are unbeaten at the Ricoh Arena so far this season and will be looking for another three points to put the pressure on leaders Burton Albion and more importantly to bring home our winning accumulator.
