BTTS Tips for this Weekend

Everton v Leicester City BTTS

What can you say about Leicester City?! Two points clear at the top of the table going into the festive period, and Champions League football could be a real possibility if they can maintain this level of form. And who knows, even the title could be in reach. Claudio Ranieri deserves huge credit for the style of play that has seen Leicester score in every single League match so far this season. His team is playing with complete assurance, and with Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez in irrepressible scoring form, you can never bet against City finding the net against anyone nowadays.

Everton’s form is stagnating slightly, and they currently find themselves in 10th place, but they are on a good scoring streak – notching 17 in their last seven outings. Romelu Lukaku has scored in his last seven on the bounce, and when Leicester City travel to Goodison on Saturday, I am expecting a high scoring encounter!

Rochdale v Colchester BTTS

Colchester have played out five consecutive BTTS matches, and when they travel to Rochdale on Saturday, I'm expecting more of the same. The U’s are another of those teams that seem to find the net in almost every game, yet manage to concede more than they score pretty consistently. United have bagged eight in their last five, but they have also conceded a monstrous 18 in these games.

Rochdale have a steady scoring record, but given Colchester’s abysmal defensive record and the gulf in confidence between the two sides, I'd back this one as a BTTS all day long.

Stevenage v Accrington Stanley BTTS

18th meets fifth in League Two on Saturday, but despite the 13 places between the two sides, I'm expecting both to get on the scoresheet at Broadhall Way. Despite being in the bottom half, Stevenage’s form has picked up dramatically recently and they now have three wins on the bounce, scoring eight goals in the process. However, the problem that has dogged them all season is conceding goals. They have conceded in nine of their last 10, and even on their three game winning streak they have managed to let in five.

Despite being in the play-off places, Accrington are also conceding too many goals, however they more than make up for their defensive frailties in attacking intent. Stanley have 14 goals in their last five and are unbeaten during this run. There are a few places between the sides, but on current form this match should be an extremely entertaining spectacle, and most importantly, full of goals.

York v Morecambe BTTS

York City may well be lying dead bottom of League Two, but it's not for want of scoring goals. The Minstermen are on a home scoring run that stretches eight games, however their record for conceding goals has seen them lose five of these eight, and they have failed to win a single one, conceding goals in all eight.

When Morecambe show up on Saturday they will be confident of breaching the York defence, and given York’s terrible form, the Shrimps will also be confident of taking all three points. However, given Jackie McNamara’s style of play, as well as City’s long scoring streak, you'd have to fancy both teams to get on the scoresheet at Bootham Crescent to complete our weekend BTTS tip.
