Weekend Football Accumulator Tips:

Crystal Palace to win away at Norwich

One of the best days of the year is finally here. Now let’s make it even better with a winning football accumulator this weekend. We start this season with Crystal Palace. The Eagles had a fine campaign last season finishing in the top half of the Premier league for the first time ever. Manager Alan Pardew will hope that his squad will have retained that winning habit over the summer and with their quick counter attacking style I can see them having enough to see off newly promoted Norwich. The Canaries will no doubt be hoping to start the season with three points in front of their own fans. Good home form is vital as they look to survive at English footballs top table but they will find it tough against a side that had the fifth best away record in the division last term. This should be a tight game but I fully expect Palace to get off to a flying start and secure all three points.

Hull to beat Huddersfield

Hull will be looking to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking and will want to start the season with a home win. They have managed to keep a large part of their squad from last term and it is full of top flight quality. If they can avoid all the injury setbacks that ruined their season last term then the Tigers should be right in the promotion mix. Huddersfield are a dangerous team and on paper have one of the strongest looking attacks in the division. Strikers like Nahki Wells and James Vaughan will cause lots of problems for any Championship defence but I expect that Hull will just about have enough to hold off the Terriers and start the season with a victory.

Brentford to beat Ipswich

This is a clash between the two clubs who lost in the Championship play-off semi-finals last term. This season they will be hoping to skip the end of season lottery and go up to the promise land automatically. Firstly they must navigate a way past each other and as for this opening day battle I fancy Brentford to come out on top for Saturday’s football accumulator. It's yet to be seen if letting Mark Warburton go will come back to haunt the Bees but they have brought well this summer and the owners are building a club ready for the Premier League. They will want to get the party started at Griffen Park with a win. Ipswich will be solid and consistent as ever under Mick McCarthy and should have their say in the promotion race. However the Tractor Boys can often start campaigns slower than most and they just might not have enough on the day to contain Brentford.

Fleetwood to beat Southend

Southend were promoted last season in a dramatic play-off final and I think that their aim this term will be to consolidate themselves in League One. They may struggle away from home this term but I fully expect them to be strong on their own patch where they conceded just four goals in their last thirteen League Two matches. However they come up against Fleetwood side who will be looking to improve on last season’s tenth place finish. The Cod Army had a fine first season at this level and will be hoping that they could make a play-off push this time around. They will need good home form to make that happen and an opening day victory over the Shrimpers will give them the confidence to push on.

Luton to win away at Accrington

Many were expecting big things from Luton after their long awaited return to league football from the Conference but they just didn't quite have enough fire power to sustain a promotion push last term. This time it should be different. They have brought very well this summer and look to have one of the strongest squads in the division. They should have enough to beat an Accrington side who have struggled at the start of recent seasons. As with most seasons survival will be Stanley's main aim and beating teams in and around them will help them do that achieve that. If they pick up anything in this one it will be a bonus but I fully expect the Hatters to take all three points and bring home our winning accumulator.
