Crystal Palace vs Norwich City predictions and betting tips for this weekend’s Premier League fixture on Saturday 9th April 2016, kick-off time 3pm.
Struggling Crystal Palace welcome a revitalised Norwich City side to Selhurst Park and our football tipster has picked the best three betting tips.
Crystal Palace v Norwich City Predictions
Norwich seemed favourites for the drop a few weeks ago after going ten games without a win, losing eight of them, but since the impressive home draw with Champions League chasing Manchester City they’ve won their last two. A great win at West Brom was followed by a crucial victory over fellow strugglers Newcastle United last week which moved them four points clear of 18th placed Sunderland. They’re far from safe, Sunderland and Newcastle both have a game in hand over the Canaries, but they’ve given themselves a great chance of playing Premier League football again next season.
Palace have been in absolute freefall since the turn of the year. It looked like the Eagles were on course for a great season in the first few months but their fortunes have taken a turn for the worse and they haven’t won a league game since December. They did pick up a credible if slightly fortunate point at West Ham last week but they need to find a win from somewhere if they’re to avoid getting dragged deeper into the relegation mire.
Norwich boss Alex Neil has an almost fully fit squad to choose from. Alex Tettey is probably out for the rest of the season, but he could welcome back Russell Martin after the defender missed the Newcastle win with a knock. Alan Pardew is hoping the trio of Emmanuel Adebayor, Yohan Cabaye and Connor Wickham are all fit to play some part in this game but he’s definitely without Marouane Chamakh and James McArthur is unlikely to feature either.
Whilst this isn’t a must win as such, it’s certainly a must not lose for both sides. If Palace lose this, Norwich will join them on 34 points and if Sunderland can get something from their game with Leicester and/or Newcastle can overcome Southampton they’ll be dragged right into the middle of the relegation battle; equally if Norwich lose they could find themselves back in serious trouble and with a crunch clash against Sunderland coming up next the Canaries really need something from this. They’re in great form at the moment, the Norwich win looks tasty at 3/1, but I think the more likely result is for these two to share the points. For my first Crystal Palace v Norwich prediction I’m going for the draw, get on it with Sky Bet who are offering 5/2.
Norwich have kept two clean sheets in their last three but I think it’s a tough ask to expect the same here. Palace have only failed to score in one of their last nine league games and I think both teams to score is a pretty sure bet for my second Crystal Palace vs Norwich prediction this weekend – the best odds are Evens with Betfair.
For my final Crystal Palace v Norwich betting tip, I’m going for one of my favourite bets which is a combination correct score bet. For me this has a score draw written all over it, for this to finish 1-1 or 2-2 Bet Victor are offering 17/4 and that’s where my money’s going.
