Coventry were held to a draw at the Ricoh on Monday now they face Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s Burton Albion who have adapted to life in League One well.

Burton are flying high in League One as JFH’s imperious record as manager continues. Apart from a 1-0 reverse at Barnsley, the Brewers have won every single game this season. They also beat Bolton in the cup. They are adapted to life in the third tier extremely well. They come up against a Coventry side who have started the season impressively, but have taken just 1 point from their last 2 games.

 

Tony Mowbray’s side sat top of the tree not so long ago, but they were narrowly edged out against high flyers Walsall before picking up a point against Southend. Many pundits would have labelled that game as one they should have won.

 

Adam Armstrong on loan from Newcastle hit 4 goals in his opening few games, but they’ve since dried up, but they have some good young players including James Maddison and experienced performers such as Reda Johnson and Jim O’Brien.

 

Burton have no stars in their line up, but they work extremely hard for one another. A couple of flair signings and a few Dutch players known to the manager have worked the oracle – notably Abnasseur El Khayati.

 

There will be a lot of people siding with Coventry because of their decent early season form, but I don’t think this trip will be easy and they will struggle to get past a solid and organised Burton side.

 

It could easily end up a draw this game, but I’m going to take a chance on the Brewers to make it their 5th win from 6.

Burton kept things tight last season, they were kings of the 1-0 win the season prior to that too.
