Bristol Rovers v Oxford Betting Tips and Predictions

Football predictions and Bristol Rovers v Oxford United betting tips for this weekend’s football with the best free football tips.

The TV cameras pitch up at the Memorial Ground for Bristol Rovers v Oxford on Sunday lunchtime. The Gas are enjoying life back in League Two winning 3 of their first 5 games. They lost last weekend to an in-form Leyton Orient side and they now face unbeaten Oxford.

Bristol Rovers v Oxford Predictions

Rovers dropping to the conference was quite the blow for this well-established club, but it probably did them good in the long run, being able to ship out all of the dead wood and give rookie manager Darrell Clarke a chance to find his feet.

A play-off final and a penalty shoot-out later, they are back in the football league at the first attempt and they have adapted to life well.

Losing their opening game narrowly to Northampton wasn’t ideal, but they won their next three games and showed they weren’t here to just make up the numbers. They beat Yeovil away followed by an outstanding victory at Kennilworth Road and then got the better of fellow newcomers Barnet.

Oxford were much fancied by many (including myself) for a tilt at the League Two title. They made some decent signings in the summer and appeared to be putting together a run of form towards the end of the 14-15 campaign. Kemar Roofe signing was instrumental and he has bagged a couple of goals already. Danny Hylton is prolific at this level and in Sam Slocombe they have a very solid keeper.

There are still questions over the managerial abilities of Michael Appleton, after spells at Blackpool and Blackburn, but perhaps it was too much too soon and he seems to have found a level at which he can quietly go about his business.

He sees his side unbeaten so far this campaign. They have only really faced one of their promotion rivals, in which they drew 2-2 with Luton, but it will be results against the likes of Yeovil, Notts County and creditable draws against Crawley and Mansfield will all add up at the end of the season.

Oxford have drawn 3 of their first 5 games, whilst Bristol Rovers are yet to taste a stalemate since returning to the Football league. I think this may be their first.

My first Bristol Rovers v Oxford prediction is the match result to be a draw, the best odds are 23/10 at Betfred.

Both sides have goals in them, they have been scoring freely so far this campaign. The aforementioned Hylton has been slotting a few away as well as Callum O’Dowda chipping in with a couple. For Rovers, they’ve been sharing them out with Stuart Sinclair’s 90th minute winner probably the most important. With the potency on offer, I can see both sides netting during the 90 minutes.

My second Bristol Rovers v Oxford betting tip is both teams to score at 10/11 with Bet Victor.

Anybody who has the misfortune of listening to me harp on about the football league knows that I am a big fan of Kemar Roofe and I think the former West Brom man was one of the best signings of the summer. He has already netted twice this season and I can see him getting on the scoresheet again here.

My third football tip for Bristol Rovers v Oxford is Kemar Roofe to score anytime, the best odds are 3/1 with Bet365.
