Weekend Football Accumulator Tips
Peterborough v Fleetwood – Peterborough to win
With yet another International weekend upon us we start this week’s bet in League One. Peterborough started the season with aspirations of promotion back to the Championship. However, the first couple of months didn't quite go to plan and it cost then manager Dave Robertson his job. They turned to Graham Westley and since then things have improved. The Posh are scoring for fun under their new manager and will be hoping for more of the same on Saturday. After starting the season brightly Fleetwood have plummeted to sit in the relegation zone. Seven defeats in their last nine means that confidence will be brittle for The Cod Army. Peterborough won their last home match 4-0 and while this match should be closer I fully expect a victory for the home side.
Swindon v Scunthorpe – Scunthorpe to win
These two have had very different seasons so far this term. Last season’s losing play-off finalists Swindon starting the season looking like they had every intention of another top six finish. They won three of their opening six league matches but their squad has since been hit with a host of injuries. They haven’t been able to record a single victory since the first week in September and are currently second from bottom in the standings. Scunthorpe on the other hand struggled in the opening weeks of the season. However, they have got stronger and stronger and a run of five wins in their last six matches sees them currently sitting in the top half of the table. The Iron are now just four points outside the play-offs and will be hoping for another victory to put pressure on the teams above them.
Luton v Barnet – Luton to win
So far this season Luton have failed to live up to expectations. They were well fancied by many at the start of the campaign for promotion but a disappointing run of results sees them in the bottom half of the table. They got a much needed win last time out away at Dagenham and will be hoping to back that up with another three points this Saturday. They're opponents Barnet have also found it tough since returning to League Two as National League champions. Their form has improved in recent weeks but they still sit at the bottom of the away league table with just a single victory in eight attempts. With the standings so tight in League Two both clubs are still capable of a promotion push but I think that Luton can take advantage of Barnet’s poor away form and take all three points.
Guiseley v Eastleigh – Eastleigh to win
We continue this week’s football acca tip in the National League. This seasons fight to secure league status is tighter than ever with just eleven points separating the entire top half of the table. Eastleigh lost out last season in the play-offs but look set to have another strong campaign. They currently sit in fourth place and that is mainly down to their solid away form. They have the third best away record in the league and will be hoping to improve that further against newly promoted Guiseley. The Lions had been knocking on the door of promotion to the National League for several seasons until they finally achieved their goal in May. They are holding their own so far this term but have struggled against some of the stronger teams in the league and an away win looks the most likely outcome in this one.
Southport v Cheltenham – Cheltenham to win
We finish Saturday's accumulator tip with National League table toppers Cheltenham. The Robins were devastated to drop out of the football league in May for the first time since 1999. However, they have a manager with a proven and successful record at this level in Gary Johnson and have been strong all campaign so far. They are a match for anyone in this league and have lost just twice all season. They have won three out of the last four and put five past Guiseley last time out. They travel to a Southport side desperately trying to avoid relegation. They are third from bottom and have recorded just two victories in their last twelve outings. They also have just a single home victory all season so all the stats point to a Cheltenham Town victory and hopefully a winning accumulator.
