Millwall v Burton predictions, betting tips and preview for Easter Monday’s live TV fixture, kick-off time is 7.45pm.
With a hectic Easter schedule, it’s two games in three days for both of these sides and the Leaders are on the road as they head to The New Den and our football tipster has picked his best three betting tips.
Millwall vs Burton Betting Preview
It’s two Sky Sports appearances in quick succession for Burton as they look to improve upon their goalless draw at the Pirelli with struggling Oldham. Tom Flanagan hit the bar in the first half, but that was the closest the men in yellow came to breaking the deadlock. It was another clean sheet for the leaders and it was always destined to be a low scoring affair with Oldham the joint lowest scorers in the league and Burton boasting the league’s tightest backline. That backline never looked in serious danger of being breached despite the energy and endeavour of Oldham Athletic.
They should have slightly more to think about here as play-off hunting Millwall will be looking to bounce back from a thoroughly disappointing defeat at Valley Parade.
Many (including myself) expected Neil Harris’ side to bring all three points back from West Yorkshire as they have been exceptional away from home this season, but it wasn’t to be and a late Steven Davies goal sent them home disappointed.
That Bradford defeat was their first reverse in seven but it still leaves them in 5th position with 62 points. They’re a seemingly unassailable nine points behind the second automatic promotion berth, but with Barnsley and Rochdale lurking, maintaining that precious play-off spot is the priority now.
It’s somewhat surprising that they failed to score on Saturday as they have been netting for fun, scoring six in their three previous matches. Neil Harris put the defeat down to ‘loss of concentration’ and labelled the conditions as ‘difficult’, but Bradford is not an easy place to visit and they’ll be glad to have that one out of the way.
Millwall vs Burton Team News
Two key players weren’t fit enough to start for the Lions on Saturday with top scorer Lee Gregory and Blackburn loanee Chris Taylor playing peripheral roles at Bradford. Gregory’s sharpness was particularly missed.
Although this is a quick turnaround, Neil Harris said he is confident they can both play a part in this match. Whether they start or remain on the bench remains to be seen. Taylor was given just short of 30 minutes in West Yorkshire, so assuming no ill-effects of that appearance. He may replace Ed Upson.
There doesn’t appear to be any injury worries for Burton following their draw with Oldham, but Nigel Clough bemoaned the lack of energy in his side and may want to make changes to address that issue. Mason Bennett will be hoping for a start after he came off the bench.
Millwall v Burton Predictions
This is a difficult one to predict, Burton weren’t their usual dynamic self on Saturday. Many expected more from a side who hit four on their previous outing, but credit to Oldham for stopping them inflicting any damage. After originally struggling at home, Millwall have improved and have won three of their last four games here. They are going to be tough to beat, but Burton don’t let many goals past them.
A draw isn’t massively productive for either side, but I think it will end a point a-piece. My first Millwall v Burton prediction is for the match to end a draw. It can be backed at 12/5 with Bet365.

As you would expect from a match involving Burton, the Under 2.5 goals bet is extremely short. With Millwall keeping four consecutive clean sheets at home, it would be a play if 4/7 wasn’t the best price available. Instead, we’ll look towards a goalless first half.
My second Millwall vs Burton prediction is for the Half Time Score to be 0-0. It can be backed at 6/4 with William Hill.
With Lee Gregory not 100% to start this match, I wouldn’t want to back for former Halifax man here. Instead, his strike partner Steve Morison looks a better bet for my anytime goalscorer tip. The experience at this level should count and I think he is most likely to find the net. My third Millwall v Burton betting tip is for Steve Morison to score anytime. He is 21/10 with 888Sport.
