Ukraine v Wales predictions and betting tips for Monday’s international friendly kicking-off at 7pm on Monday 28th March.
Wales travel to the NSK Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev for Monday evening's international friendly against Ukraine and I have three football tips for this one as both nations carry on their preparations for Euro 2016 in France this summer.
Ukraine vs Wales Team News
Thursday saw the Welsh draw 1-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium with Northern Ireland (and if you went with our Wales v Northern Ireland betting tips you would have won yourself a few quid) as manager Chris Coleman gave some of the fringe players a chance to cement a place on the plane to France this summer. George Williams was one who impressed in particular so he may get another chance to show what he can do, though Coleman has hinted he'll make more changes to the Wales starting line-up for this one. We could see Jazz Richards and Emyr Huws appear here and Thursday night's goalscorer Simon Church might be rewarded with a start too. Tom Bradshaw should make his debut and Ben Davis is fit again but Andrew Crofts has left the squad to return to Gillingham.
Ukraine narrowly beat Cyprus 1-0 on Wednesday as coach Mykhaylo Fomenko also made changes to his side as he looks to finalize his squad for Euro 2016 where they will take their place in Group C alongside Germany, Poland and Northern Ireland. There were five debutants for Ukraine on Thursday, and Fomenko could make more changes here. He, like his Wales counterpart, has injuries to contend with, he'll be without star man Yevhen Konoplyanka amongst others but Wednesday's match winner Taras Stepanenko could start again (he missed an absolute sitter before scoring the winner) and Andriy Yarmolenko will be a danger to the Wales defence.
Ukraine vs Wales Predictions
Wales will certainly be a sterner test for Ukraine than their previous opponents. Much of Wales' recent success has been based on their defensive discipline, they only conceded four goals in their Euro qualifying campaign, and they'll be tough to break down. Similarly, Ukraine, who finished third in their Euro 2016 qualifying group behind Spain and Slovakia and had to get past Slovenia in the play-offs to book their place in the Euros', only conceded four goals too and with both sides missing star players, particularly going forward, I'm going for the draw. The best odds for my first Ukraine vs Northern Ireland prediction are with bet365 who are offering 14/5 for the draw.

Despite both team’s excellent defensive records, I think they'll both get on the scoresheet. Ukraine were sloppy at times against Cyprus, who were guilty of missing a couple of good chances, so there could be opportunities for Church, Sam Vokes and co. At the other end, Ukraine have only failed to score on home soil once in their last six games, that coming against Spain in the qualifiers, and at 13/8 with William Hill a bet on both teams to score is definitely worth a shout for my second Ukraine vs Wales prediction.
For my final football betting tip on this week’s friendly international between Ukraine and Wales, I'm going for a correct score bet. I think this will be a low scoring affair with both defences on top more often than most, I'm going for this to finish 1-1.
