Over 2.5 Goals Accumulator Tips
Cardiff v Rotherham
Cardiff lifted the pressure off the shoulders of under-fire manager Russell Slade last weekend by firing three great goals past Wolves. Craig Noone was at the centre of all the good work and there’s every chance they can unlock this Rotherham defence. The Millers had been improving under Neil Redfearn, but they suffered a setback with their 3-0 defeat to QPR. It means Rotherham have now conceded nine goals in their last four matches, BUT have scored 11 goals in their last six. The 3-1 win was the 4th time in eight games that Cardiff have hit the overs, but in that sequence, they played defensively tight Hull City and goal shy Blackburn. The last two meetings between these sides have ended 2-1 and 1-3.
Chesterfield v Millwall
Danny Wilson’s appointment has had the desired effect. Since the Lancastrian was appointed, his side have beaten Shrewsbury by a six goal deficit and then beaten Rochdale at Spotland. They were outclassed by Wigan last weekend, but they’ve found their goalscoring potential and they should be set to score a couple more here at the Proact Stadium for the visit of Millwall. Neil Harris’ side are a better side on their travels winning two of their last three away matches. They’ve now scored 10 goals in their last four league matches and should be able to test a Chesterfield defence who have shipped nine goals in their last five matches.
Barnsley v Rochdale
Barnsley have started scoring again and are on their way back up the table. They’ve stuck with manager Lee Johnson and he is guiding them away from the dreaded relegation zone. They hit three last weekend as they easily saw off an out-of-form Shrewsbury and Sam Winnall is back amongst the goals. A striker on-form is essential in League One and with Adam Hammill providing the ammunition, they are enjoying a fruitful spell. Keith Hill’s Rochdale are better at home, but they’ve been involved in some entertaining ties on the road recently. They’ve scored in each of their last six matches in the league and should play their part in an entertaining fixture for another winner on our over 2.5 goals tips. They’ll be raring to go after having their clash with Fleetwood called off. Their last outing a 3-2 defeat to Chesterfield.
Crewe v Wigan
We head off for another clash in League One as strugglers Crewe host a resurgent Wigan Athletic. Steve Davis has told his team to be more positive recently, but as a result, it’s leaving gaps at the back and that’s spelling problems for Crewe’s goal difference column. It’s 15 goals conceded in five matches for the Railwaymen and just a single point gained. Wigan have been running riot recently, having completed a remarkable comeback to beat promotion rivals Gillingham 3-2, they then threw away a three goal lead themselves to Sheffield United and saw off Chesterfield the week after. It makes it 15 goals in three matches and if that’s anything to go by, this one should be a thoroughly decent affair.
Northampton v Morecambe
We’re in League Two for the final selection and the side sat in second place and with the best home form in the league Northampton welcome Morecambe to Sixfields. Chris Wilder’s side have been on the up despite their early season financial problems. They’ve scored seven goals in their last three matches and have won them all. They should get all three points here, but Morecambe will play their part. After an alarming slip down the table, they’ve started to steady the ship once more and it’s now four unbeaten (2 draws, 2 wins). They’ve scored seven goals in that time, including twice against both Notts County and Yeovil. Northampton have plenty of firepower, especially with the recent addition of James Collins to their line up whilst the Shrimps can always look towards Shaun Miller for scoring inspiration.
