Forest to beat Rotherham

The opening weekend of the season was one that these two clubs would like to forget having both suffered defeats. Nottingham Forest has a decent squad that should be pushing for promotion this term. It’s been sixteen long years since they were in the Premier League and they will be looking to change that this season. This Saturday they should have more than enough for struggling Rotherham. The Millers are the outsiders in this division and did very well to survive last season. However they started this campaign in awful fashion losing 4-1 to promoted MK Dons and they need to improve quickly. Unfortunately for them they may struggle to do that this weekend.

 

Sheffield Wednesday to win away at Ipswich

This is a tough game to call. Both teams got points on the board last week in the opening game of the season and then followed it up with victories in the first round of the Capital One Cup. You could make an argument for both teams but for me Sheffield Wednesday have started the season in fine form and will be looking to continue their winning start to the campaign. Six goals in two games is a great start for the Owls and I think they can continue that scoring run against Ipswich. The Tractor Boys should have another good year but they struggled to overcome Stevenage at home in midweek and are not always the fastest starters to a season which is why I fancy Wednesday to just come out on top.

 

Rochdale to win away at Blackpool

Blackpool had a nightmare season last term finishing bottom of the Championship with just 4 league wins all campaign. The last time they had a home match it had to be abandoned due to a crowd protest on the pitch. Sadly for the Tangerines I don’t see things improving for them this time around. They come up against a Rochdale side that more than held their own at this level last season. They started off this campaign with victory against well fancied Peterborough and I can see them adding to that victory by piling on more misery for the long suffering Blackpool fans.
