Both Teams to Score Tips 19th November
Birmingham v Bristol City
Both of these sides are positioned just outside the play-off spots and will be looking to climb into the top six with three points here. Bristol City dropped out after a 2-0 defeat to Brighton as they just couldn’t find a way past the Seagulls stingy backline. Birmingham should be a little more generous at the back with no clean sheet in five and just a single shutout in nine. Gary Rowett’s side started the season as a side who gave little away and made themselves difficult to beat, but the Blues haven’t been able to continue that and have shipped 18 goals in 16 games so far. Bristol City managed to score 23 goals in 16 games and the defeat against Brighton was just the second time they’ve failed to net since mid-September. Tammy Abraham will always be a threat and should pose a few questions for the Birmingham backline. At the other end, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Clayton Donaldson are seasoned finishers and Che Adams adds some raw power and pace. The last time these sides met at St Andrews, it ended 4-2.
Both teams to score odds – 4/5 with bet365.
Southend v Bradford
Southend continued their remarkable record of having not lost in November for 7 years when they won 4-1 at Bury. The Shrimpers can be brilliant on their day, but with little in reserve and injuries hitting hard, they struggle. Their squad is thin, but they have recruited the troublesome and unpredictable Nile Ranger and he scored twice at the weekend. At Roots Hall, Southend have scored in all but one of their fixtures this season (in all competitions) and should be able to test the Bantams defence. Bradford away from home have had mixed fortune, but did overcome Wimbledon 3-2 last time out and have kept just two clean sheets in their last eight away games in all competitions. They hit Rochdale for four at home last weekend, but Dale were down to 10 men and Bradford looked efficient and ruthless going forward and they can certainly do some damage if they get into their stride.
Both teams to score odds – 10/11 with bet365.
Walsall v Gillingham
Gillingham continue to be a BTTS backers dream this season and they once again paid out in the FA Cup replay on Wednesday against Brackley so they’re in our football tip this weekend. They haven’t kept a clean sheet this season and against a decent Walsall outfit, it doesn’t look like stopping just yet. The Saddlers have scored in every home league game this season and notched three against Shrewsbury and twice against Millwall. Away from home, the Gills have lost their last three League One games by a 2-1 scoreline. They have the players to cause problems and Jay Emmanuel Thomas netted late on against Northampton last weekend, but Justin Edinburgh just cannot organise his backline. Previous fixtures between these sides have ended 1-1, 3-2 and 1-1 and we’ll be hoping for a repeat here. Walsall should win this one, but Gillingham are likely to get onto the scoresheet.
Both teams to score odds – 7/10 with bet365.
Doncaster v Hartlepool
Doncaster have fine home form, but couldn’t get the job done against Wycombe recently. Two goalkeeping howlers were the blame as the Chairboys salvaged a point and a 2-2 draw. Darren Ferguson’s men then went behind before mounting a comeback at Exeter and there are questions over their defence at the moment. They conceded twice to Oldham in the FA Cup and four times away at Blackpool and they can’t be trusted to keep a clean sheet now. At the other end though, they may be missing Andy Williams, but John Marquis is more than making up for that. He’s been firing of late and looks set to start again here. Tommy Rowe is also a threat along with the creativity of James Coppinger. Hartlepool have netted in every single away match this season and that looks set to continue here. They’ve been more effective away from Victoria Park, but have lost their last two away matches 3-2.
Both teams to score odds – 4/6 with bet365.
