Weekend Football Accumulator Tips

Sunderland v Southampton – Southampton win.

We start this week’s football accumulator bet with Southampton. The Saints are having another good season under Ronald Koeman. They currently sit in seventh place and are unbeaten in five matches. In their last two away games they have taken four points from Chelsea & Liverpool. In fact, they haven't lost away from home all season. They face a Sunderland side who are already hanging on to their Premier League lives by a thread. They managed to get that elusive first victory of the season two weeks ago against arch rivals Newcastle but then followed that up by being on the wrong end of a 6-2 scoreline against Everton. They have the worst defensive record in the league and I can only see this match going one way. Three points to The Saints.

Brighton v MK Dons – Brighton win.

Brighton have had a great start to the campaign. Fifteen games into the season and they have yet to taste defeat. Their only disappointment is that they have drew six of their last eight and were knocked off the top of the table for the first time since September in midweek. They have a perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways this weekend against MK Dons. The Dons are struggling to adapt to life in the Championship since promotion from League One. They have won just twice in thirteen games and will struggle to break down the Seagulls. This could be a close one as all of Brighton's victories have come by a single goal this term but one goal should be just enough for Chris Houghton's men to take the points on Saturday.

Charlton v Sheffield Wednesday – Sheffield Wednesday win.

Charlton have dropped like a stone in recent weeks and need to find some points quickly if they want to avoid dropping down League One. In their last 11 matches they have drew two and lost nine which is relegation form. They have lost their last five and haven't even scored a goal in that time and they will struggle again on Saturday against in form Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls look like a good side this term and are aiming to make the play-offs. They play fast attacking football and are a match for any team in this division on their day. They are unbeaten in nine matches and will be confident of making it ten in their quest to make it back to the Premier for the first time since 2000.

Hull v Middlesbrough – Hull win.

There is a long way to go in this Championship season but this is a big match that could have a say in who achieves promotion at the end of the campaign. Hull have reacted well to being relegated from the Premier League last season. They are currently top of the standings and are unbeaten in nine matches. They haven't conceded a single goal in four league games and are unbeaten at home. Middlesbrough have also been on good form and are looking for their fourth win on the bounce. These two clubs have the two best defensive records in the league so it should be a tight affair. However, Middlesbrough's two league defeats have come away from home this season so I think that Hull will just have enough fire power to take the points by the odd goal.

Plymouth v Carlisle – Plymouth win.

We finish this week’s accumulator tip in the FA Cup. This weekend is the first round of the greatest cup competition in club football and I fancy League Two high flyers Plymouth to continue their good form and make it to round two. Argyle are five points clear in the standings and look to have a very strong chance of promotion. They also have the strongest home record in the league this season and have already beaten todays opponents 4-1 at Home Park. Carlisle are having a decent season and sit just outside the play-offs. There have been more goals in their league games than any other League Two club so expect a high scoring encounter. Plymouth will want to keep their winning run going and in turn bring home our winning accumulator tip this weekend.
