Tonight’s Accumulator Tips

Manchester United v Southampton – Man United win

Man United got off to the perfect start with a 3-1 win over Bournemouth on Sunday. Jose Mourinho’s side provided more entertainment than last season as Zlatan and co beat the side from the South Coast. They face Southampton in their opening match at Old Trafford and the first edition of Friday night football from the Premier League. The Saints will be fine this season, Claude Puel was excellent at Nice, but his side will need time to adapt after yet another summer exodus. United should be too strong and have too much firepower for the Saints defence. Southampton couldn’t finish off Watford on the opening weekend and I think the Red Devils should make it six points from six and get our accumulator tip off to a winning start.

Galway v Bray – Galway win

Just a single game in the Irish Premier League and we fancy the home side to come out on top. Bray have been in decent form recently and are unbeaten in eight, but six of those have been at home. On their travels they’re a different beast who possess the worst away form in the league. They’ve kept two 0-0 draws in their latest away encounters but prior to that they’d lost 6 consecutive matches. They’ve played 9 times away from home this season scoring just a single goal. Galway have won two and drawn 1 of their last three matches and should be able to take all three points here. 16 of their 28 goals have come here in front of their own fans and 3 points here would take them above 6th place St Patricks who beat them last week.

Lyon v Caen – Lyon win

This is a short price, but worth sticking into the Friday accumulator tips. Lyon had a brilliant run at the end of last season, particularly at home. They haven’t lost since the 5th of December 2015 and are unbeaten since moving to Parc Olympique Lyonnais in January. They are tough to beat here and only Marseille and Nice took something back. They opened the campaign with a 3-0 demolition of newly promoted Nancy which was the perfect start. They should be confident coming into this one and they’ve won the previous two meetings with Caen here. Their opponents were 2-0 down at home and staring down the barrel against Lorient. The away side self-combusted, went down to 10 men and Caen completed the comeback late on. It wasn’t entirely convincing and they might struggle to contain the Lyon attack.

Le Havre v Troyes – Le Havre win

Bob Bradley’s side mean business this year as they focus on gaining promotion from Ligue 2. They came close last season, but missed out by a single goal and they are determined to avenge that. They’ve got off to an unbeaten start with 2 wins and a draw from their opening games. The point came against GFC Ajaccio who are also unbeaten. Le Havre have only conceded 1 goal and look solid at the back. As a result, Troyes might struggle to break them down. The side relegated from Ligue 1 have taken time to adjust to life in the second tier, but they picked up their first win last week against Laval. They’ve scored in each game this season, but they are yet to encounter a defence as tight as the Northerners backline.

Strasbourg v Nimes – Strasbourg win

We’re sticking with French Ligue 2 for the final selection on today’s football accumulator. The home side have just been promoted after a spell in the 3rd tier and they’ve returned with a bang. An impressive start leaves them unbeaten after three matches and I fancy them to make it four. They’ve scored four times and conceded just a single goal so far this campaign and they have too much for the visitors. Nimes were disappointing on Monday night going down 2-0 to Lens and it leaves them rock bottom of the table with just a single point and yet to find the back of the net. They were deducted points last season, but rallied and easily made up the deficit to survive with ease. If they don’t buck up their ideas, they’ll be nervously looking over their shoulders.
