Reading v Ipswich Betting Tips and Predictions

Reading v Ipswich betting tips and predictions for Friday night’s Championship match with the best free football betting tips.

Reading v Ipswich gets us back underway after the International Break and is Friday night’s offering from the Championship.

Reading v Ipswich Predictions:

The Majeski Stadium plays host to a Reading side who have been reasonably difficult to beat this season. Last year, they gave away and/or dropped too many easy points, but Steve Clarke has toughened them up and they won’t be frightened of prolific visitors Ipswich.

Unfortunately for the home crowd, they haven’t seen a goal yet. They have only witnessed 2 games of the 2015-16 season, but they’ve viewed two 0-0 draws so far. Away from home, they’ve drawn 1-1, lost on the opening day, but beat Brentford 3-1 at Griffin Park, so those who travel have seen plenty more action.

I think this game may be the anomaly, I think Ipswich will come and play fairly openly which will cause Reading to take risks and it should be an entertaining game.

The Tractor Boys will be looking to bounce back from their disappointment against early leaders Brighton last time out. In a superbly topsy-turvy game, archetypal of the Championship, Ipswich conceded a couple sloppy goals and suddenly found themselves leaving point-less.

It was a sucker-punch just before the break after what had been a terrific start to the season, an unbeaten start to the season and Mick McCarthy will be looking for a way of making it double defeat.

Ipswich have scored at least 2 goals in every game they have featured in domestically. I think this will be a tough test to break down a stubborn Reading defence. New signing Paul McShane has slotted in really well at centre back and is marshalling the back 4 along with the talented Chris Gunter.

I still think they will find a way through causing Reading to push forward and both teams should find the net during the 90 minutes.

My first Reading v Ipswich prediction is for both teams to score which can be backed at Evens with William Hill.

Although there has yet to be a goal grace the Majeski in this campaign, I think this is the game to bring them out. Reading managed 3 at Griffin Park and Nick Blackman has clearly dusted off his shooting boots. It was positive for the fans to see Orlando Sa get a goal after his summer move. Ipswich conceding 3 times to Brighton showed how open they were playing. Previously, The Seagulls has only mustered a single goal in each of their games. I fancy Reading to score a couple in this, with the vociferous home crowd roaring them on.

My second football prediction for Reading v Ipswich is for Reading to score over 1.5 goals which can be backed at 12/5 with Coral.

Matej Vydra has signed on loan from Watford for the rest of the season and was Steve Clarke’s number one transfer target in the window. If he gets a start, I think he is likely to find the net. He has shown he can be prolific at this level and it’s worth taking a chance on him. We’ll go anytime, in case he starts on the bench.

My third Reading v Ipswich prediction is for Matej Vydra to score anytime which can be backed at 2/1 with Sky Bet.
