It’s been an odd season for both of these clubs so far. QPR didn’t start well, losing a London derby to Charlton on the opening day of the season, but they’ve won their last three consecutive games and have started to look as though they are playing as a team, rather than a collection of overpriced individuals, as they were last season under Harry Redknapp.

Forest are always expected to do well, because of the size and the history of the club, but they haven’t started well under Dougie Freedman. Just 1 win in 5 so far, that being a narrow 2-1 victory over lowly Rotherham, will our weekend football tips say they can win again on Saturday?

 

They have some talented players, although they have been severely restricted in who they could bring in, due to the transfer embargo. Chris Burke and David Vaughn are decent Championship midfielders, but they will be rocked by the loss of Mikhail Antonio who left for West Ham in the transfer window. Crucially, they kept hold of Henri Lansbury in midfield and he be crucial for the remainder of the season.

 

Dougie Freedman says he is happy with the business he completed on Deadline Day. He bought in Chris O’Grady from Brighton and also signed Ryan Mendes and Nelson Oliveira. All of whom will add pace and power to the Squad.

 

Meanwhile, QPR are pursuing Alex Pritchard from Spurs on loan, but that has yet to be confirmed and it doesn’t look like it will be completed in time for this match.

 

I think QPR have turned the corner now and the shock of being back in the Championship after just one season is behind them. I also think keeping hold of Charlie Austin was crucial. They claimed there were no bids for him during the window and he score plenty of goals for them as they plot their way back to the promised land.

 

The three new signings are unlikely to turn the tide straight away at Forest and this is a tricky assignment for a team out of form. I fancy QPR to take three points for my prediction on who will win the match.

I’m heading back into the team goals market for my second football betting tip. I fancy QPR to net at least twice against a Forest side who have shipped a fair few goals this season. They conceded twice to Cardiff at home last time out and despite the presence of the excellent Jack Hobbs, they always look a little shaky at the back. QPR have Charlie Austin leading the line along with the creativity of Matt Phillips plus Tjarron Chery has started his QPR career like a house on fire and they will surely have too much firepower for Forest.
