Weekend football betting tips and Notts County v Plymouth predictions for Sunday 11th October’s League Two match.
Notts County host Plymouth in the second televised League Two game of the day this weekend and our tipster has got his three best bet tips.
Football Predictions – Notts County v Plymouth
There were contrasting fortunes for these sides in midweek in the Johnstone’s Paint as Notts County were humbled by Sheffield United 5-1. They lost Hayden Hollis to a red card, but they were already well beaten by that stage. The defender will be missing for this encounter and Notts County’s disciplinary woes continue under Ricardo Moniz.
Sheffield United away is always a tough fixture and nobody likes to visit Brammall Lane, but with the Blades flattering to deceive in League One, it must be demoralising for Notts County fans to see the gap between them and their opponents, when the two clubs were in the same league last season.
On the contrary, there was joy for Plymouth as they beat Exeter 2-0 in the Devon derby. Obviously the competition means little to some clubs and can be a distraction from the league, but with sides only being allowed to make five changes, wholesale, sweeping alterations were not present in midweek.
Plymouth sit top of the league, but this division is going to be very close and the top spot will be handed over several times before Christmas you would imagine. The Pilgrims have not been at their fluid best recently and their away form is far from convincing. Home Park is a fortress, but they’ve lost on the road to Stevenage and drew 0-0 with Mansfield last time. They’ve only conceded three goals on their travels, but they haven’t been picking up point as easily.
Notts County have been indifferent throughout, but their recent home form has taken an upward curve and they’ve won their last three matches at Meadow Lane. They beat York, Crawley and Luton, although Plymouth are better than all three of these teams, I can see this one being fairly close.
Notts County have only lost once at home, that was on the opening day of the season to Mansfield. Plymouth have beaten injury hit Northampton, inconsistent AFC Wimbledon and more impressively, promotion rivals Wycombe at home.
Considering Notts County’s recent home form and Plymouth being slightly inconsistent away from home, it might be best to side with the draw.
My first football prediction for this weekend’s Notts County v Plymouth match is the result to be a draw, the best odds are 12/5 with Bet Victor.

Notts County kept a clean sheet against York, but after leaking so many in midweek, Moniz may still be looking for his best defensive combination and some experimenting at the back, particularly with the absence of Hayden Hollis may open the door for Plymouth. The Pilgrims have some potent players in the shape of Jake Jervis, Graham Carey and Reuben Reid. Alternatively, with Jon Stead in their team and the enigma that is Liam Noble, Notts County have a goal or two in them as well.
My second football betting tip is for both teams to score at odds of 4/6 with Betfred.

One player I didn’t mention in the above list was Izale McLeod. The former MK Dons man scored bags of goals for Crawley last season and he is missed tremendously by the Sussex Club. Crawley’s loss is Notts County’s gain though as he can be potent and give defenders nightmares. He is a good bet to score during the 90 minutes.
My third football prediction for Notts County v Plymouth is Izale McLeod to score anytime and the best odds are 9/5 at Betfair.
