Manchester United vs Everton predictions and football betting tips for this weekend’s second Super Sunday Premier League fixture.
Sunday afternoon brings us a North West derby as Manchester United host Everton at Old Trafford and I have three football tips for this Premier League clash.
Man United vs Everton Preview
United's season has been one of frustration interspersed with moments of them actually (shock horror) playing alright. The last month summarises their season pretty well, they lose to West Brom, get knocked out of the Europa League at the hands of Liverpool but then go and beat City in the Manchester derby. The emergence of Marcus Rashford has helped Louis Van Gaal keep the pressure on the teams above them, his five goals in eight appearances has helped his side to just a point behind City who occupy the final Champions League spot.
Everton also have had a frustrating season. Their home form has been woeful, in the home form table they're 17th, but their away form has been good having taken 22 points from their thirteen away games so far, scoring 22 goals in the process. They're in 12th position in the table though, and Everton fans would've expected much more from Roberto Martinez and his men.
Van Gaal still has a number of injuries to contend with. Bastian Schweinsteiger is likely to miss the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury and he's still without Wayne Rooney and Luke Shaw. Phil Jones and Ashley Young are serious doubts for this one but they could welcome back Ander Herrera. Everton will be without Gareth Barry who is serving the second of his two match ban, Steven Pienaar is a major doubt but Bryan Oviedo could play after illness.
Man United vs Everton Predictions
Given the unpredictable nature of both sides this is a tough match to call or my Premier League betting tips. United have been in good form in the league of late but they're up against a side with a great away record. What I do think though is that they'll be goals in this one. In the last six meetings between the two there's been 14 goals scored, and with the form of Romelu Lukaku for the Toffees, who's scored four in his last four appearances, and the aforementioned Rashford for United, both sides have goalscoring threats and there's every chance of a few goals here. My first Man United vs Everton prediction is both teams to score and over 2.5 goals, get on it with William Hill at 11/8.

The future of Romelu Lukaku has been a topic of discussion in recent weeks with a number of top European clubs reported to be interested in signing him in the summer. It's easy to see why, he's scored 25 goals in all competitions this season and is Everton's biggest goalscoring threat. Picking a first goalscorer for a side away from home can be risky, though odds of 5/1 are appealing, but instead of going for him to score anytime for my next Man United vs Everton prediction, where you can get odds of 37/19, I'm going for the slightly longer odds of 9/4 for Lukaku to be the first to score for his side. For my final Man United v Everton betting tip, I'm going with a gut feeling (uh oh) I think Everton are going to win this, I know United are on a decent unbeaten run in the league but I don't think that will last too much longer, and Everton away from home have been impressive.
