Nottingham Forest failed to beat ten men Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend and that was Dougie Freedman’s last action at the Forest helm. Every team goes through a bad run of form, but despite an unbeaten run mid-season, there have been grumblings at the City Ground for some time. Forest fans haven’t been happy with the style of the team, who have scored just three goals in eight games.

 

Goalscoring has been a major problem for the Tricky Trees and since the loss of Britt Assombalonga, they’ve been unable to find anybody to fill the void. Nelson Oliveira, the top goalscorer, is yet to reach double figures and they aren’t creating enough chances.

 

Freedman’s departure makes this an interesting fixture and potentially difficult for Hull City as we often see teams improve dramatically after a managerial departure.

 

It also makes it difficult from a betting perspective as it’s hard to know which Nottingham Forest will turn up.

 

Hull City dropped points at the weekend against a dogged MK Dons side and Steve Bruce was understandably frustrated afterwards. It was the perfect chance to keep tabs on Burnley and with Middlesbrough losing on Sunday, it was a further kick in the teeth.

 

It’s a busy week for the Tigers as they face a crunch match with the aforementioned Middlesbrough where a win could be a huge step towards the Premier League. There is no doubt that Hull are solid enough for promotion, but they could do with scoring a few more goals. It’s just four goals scoring since the 6th of February but they’ve only conceded three in that time.

 

The Championship promotion race is hotting up and goal scorers need to be in form at this stage of the season. With Andre Gray and Sam Vokes netting regularly for Burnley, Hull could do with Abel Hernandez finding his shooting boots. He hasn’t netted for a month and against Forest would be the perfect time to put that right.

 

Goalscorer Sam Clucas has said his side must start taking their chances and they will hope to put a couple past Forest.

 

Hull are very short at around 4/7 and I’m not sure I can tip a side who have drawn their last three home games and won just one of their last five for tonight’s football betting tips. Nottm Forest are going to be a bit unpredictable here and I think the draw might be the best of the three.
