Stoke to win away at Blackburn

We start this week’s accumulator tips in the FA Cup. This year’s competition is wide open thanks to the early departure of big guns Chelsea & Man City. A win here gets you to a quarter final and Stoke manager Mark Hughes will fancy his side’s chances of reaching Wembley this term. Stoke are having a great season and currently sit in the top half of the Premier League. They have improved their away form and come up against a Rover's side who need to concentrate on their league form if they are going to make a late run for a play-off place. Blackburn have been quite strong at home so this won't be easy but Stoke should have enough class to edge through to the next round at the first attempt.

 

Chesterfield to beat Leyton Orient

Chesterfield are having a great season since winning League two last May and are fighting to get into the play-offs this term to try and make it back to back promotions. Eight of their eleven league wins have come at home this season and they will be looking to add to that tally against bottom of the table Orient. After losing the League One play-off final last year on penalties many expected Leyton Orient to put another strong campaign together but the hangover from that day at Wembley just won't go away. On paper they have a strong squad but look to lack and real leadership on and off the pitch and relegation to League 2 will become reality unless they can turn things around quickly and I don't see that happening this weekend.

 

Burton to beat Oxford

For the first time in Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s reign as Burton manager his side failed to win at home last time out. They will want to put that right here and enhance their chance of automatic promotion. Burton have not tasted defeat in eleven league matches and will be expecting that run to continue against inconsistent Oxford. United started this season slowly and although things have improved slightly, they are still only five points above the drop zone. The last thing that they need is to head to an in form side and unfortunately for them they come up against a team in great form and I fully expect Burton to win this leg of our accumulator.

 

Shrewsbury to beat Wimbledon

On Tuesday Wimbledon held promotion hopefuls Burton to a draw and will be hoping to frustrate Shrewsbury in the same way. AFC have a good squad and are in the hunt for a late play-off push but that may have to wait until next weekend as they come up against a very good Shrewsbury side. The Shrew's have lost just two matches in their last nineteen league outings and after being a goal down after 90 minutes against Carlisle in midweek still managed to come away with three points. I believe that Mickey Mellon's men are the best bet for the League Two title this season and three points in this one would help consolidate their position at the top of the standings.

 

Southend to beat Accrington

We finish this weekend’s accumulator tip with another promotion chasing League Two side. Southend have put a decent run together of late and are unbeaten in ten. They now find themselves right in the middle of the promotion race and will fancy their chances to improve that position against mid table Accrington. Stanley have lost six of their last eight league matches and have fell away from being in touch with the play-offs. Staying clear of the relegation zone will now be Accrington's target for the remainder of the campaign and I do believe that they have enough quality to do that. However coming away with anything this Saturday may well be a more difficult task and Southend will hopefully bring home our winning accumulator.
