Football Accumulator Tips 11th November
Armenia v Montenegro – Montenegro win
The early kick off is our first betting tip as we side with the away side who are surprisingly topping their group. They’ve played really well so far and despite being under the cosh for most of the 90 minutes, they managed to keep Denmark off the scoresheet. They’ve collected 7 points from a possible 9 and are level with Poland at the summit of the group. They have kept two consecutive clean sheets in a row and should be able to make it a hat-trick. They don’t have too many superstars, but Stefan Jovetic is always a threat and defender Stefan Savic will help keep things tight at the back. They’ve proven they can perform on the road with the aforementioned victory in Denmark and a solid point in Bucharest against Romania. Armenia sit bottom of the group and have failed to pick up any points. They were unlucky against Poland, but collapsed after going down to 10 men when hosting Romania. There won’t be much in this, but Montenegro should sneak it and continue their reign at the top of the table.
Northern Ireland v Azerbaijan – Northern Ireland win
Michael O’Neill’s side are always tough to beat at home. They have a terrific record here and have only been beaten by Portugal here since August 2013. They don’t have many stars with many of their players regularly starting in the Championship or below. Steven Davis always plays a key role and Kyle Lafferty scored a rare goal for Norwich at the weekend. However, the striker tends to save his best for the International Stage. They were thoroughly professional in their 4-0 demolition of San Marino last time out and although it won’t be as easy here, they should secure all three points. Although many of their recent matches here have been friendlies, they have beaten Latvia, Slovenia and Greece here. Azerbaijan picked up their first away win in over five years with a victory in San Marino, but it was a narrow triumph and their away form doesn’t offer any reason to back them. They’ve started the qualification campaign well, but have played twice at home so far. This might not be a fruitful trip for them.
Romania v Poland – Draw
These two sides have played out an awful lot of draws in recent encounters and this one could go the same way. Three of Romania’s last five games have finished all square including their goalless affair with Kazakhstan in October. In Bucharest, Romania are very solid and don’t lose often. Only a 4-3 win in a topsy-turvy affair with Ukraine and a 2-0 victory for Turkey break a near perfect record which stretches back four years. They’ve made a decent start to the qualifying campaign under their new boss and will once again prove an obstinate opponent for Poland to tackle. The Poles needed a 95th minute goal from their hero Robert Lewandowski to prevent them dropping points against Armenia last time out. They drew plenty of matches in the Euros including a 0-0 draw with Germany and requiring penalties to get past Switzerland. They recently played out a 2-2 draw in Kazakhstan in their only away qualifier so far. The points could be shared here.
Honduras v Panama – Honduras win
Finally, we head to the Central American qualifying for Russia 2018 and Honduras host Panama. Honduras have a fairly strong side to choose from with many of their players finished with the MLS season and able to concentrate fully on this match. They came 4th in the Olympics and proved hard to beat. Although they struggled against Panama in the Gold Cup earlier in the year, they are at home here and that should make the difference. Their home ground is a cauldron of noise and a difficult place to go for any side. They’ve won four of their last five games in all competitions and are in decent form. Their only defeat here in 18 months came against Mexico and they should be able to take all three points. Panama’s away from is poor with four defeats from their last five matches on their travels and they’ve netted just twice in that period.
