Both Teams to Score Tips

Croatia v Iceland

Just one of the World Cup 2018 qualifiers is going into our weekend BTTS tip and it’s Croatia v Iceland. The Croatians have won their last two matches without conceding but the standard of the opposition have been poor. Kosovo are only just finding their feet after forming not so long ago and were beaten 6-0 then Finland followed and they’ve got a real goalscoring issue. They were narrowly beaten by a single goal. In their only World Cup Qualifier here so far, Croatia drew 1-1 with Turkey and a similar scoreline could occur here. Iceland have been very entertaining to watch in 2016 and provided everybody with a second team in the Euros this summer. They were involved in a topsy-turvy 3-2 win against Finland which needed a last minute goal to secure the three points and they played out a 1-1 draw in Ukraine before that. They have plenty of players who are capable of finding a way past Croatia and should be able to get on the scoresheet.

Coventry v Scunthorpe

Two sides playing with a lot of confidence at the moment meet in League One on Saturday. Coventry have improved massively under Mark Venus and produced a wonderful comeback in the EFL Trophy against Wycombe in midweek. In the league they’ve been scoring goals and are unbeaten in almost a month. They’ve netted twice in their last four home matches in the league and they come up against the leaders full of confidence. They’re firing from all over the pitch with Jordan Willis, Andy Rose and Gael Bigirimana all adding goals recently. Scunthorpe are still making strides under Graham Alexander and are still the team to beat this season. They sit top of the pile and are scoring for fun. It looks like Paddy Madden may miss this game through injury, but they still have Tom Hopper, Kevin Van Veen and of course Josh Morris capable of finding the back of the net. They’ve hit nine goals in their last four away games in League One.

Gillingham v Northampton

Bound to be a short price because of recent form, but worth adding into the 4fold. Gillingham are still yet to keep a clean sheet in the league this season and that run looks like continuing here. The Gills just cannot keep sides out and despite their 2-0 triumph in the EFL Trophy I still think there are problems at the back. BTTS would have landed in 6 of their last 7 matches in League One and they’re up against a side who are also having problems at the back. Northampton appeared to be cruising two weeks ago as they led Bury by three goals to nil. The Shakers staged a second half comeback and came within a whisker of making it all square. That meant Northampton have now conceded 7 goals in 3 matches domestically and they even let Brackley score twice against them in the FA Cup. Rob Page’s side can find the back of the net, but keeping sides out is definitely an issue.

Blackpool v Notts County

Blackpool have been a good source of BTTS In recent weeks and their 2-2 draw with Cheltenham was a pretty hectic affair. The woodwork had been hit inside the first 10 minutes and there were numerous chances at both ends throughout. The Seasiders have Kyle Vassell in fine form and Brad Potts chipping in from midfield and look decent going forward, but like so many sides in the division, defensive issues blight them. They managed to keep a clean sheet in the FA Cup against a side two tiers below them, but they haven’t kept a side out in the league since the 3rd of September. Their last four League Two matches would have all landed BTTS. Notts County played out a goalless draw with Luton two weeks ago, but away from home, they’re leaky. Across all competitions, 8 of their last 9 games would have landed BTTS and they haven’t failed to score in an away league game since the opening day of the season.
