Football Accumulator Tips this Weekend
Derby v Brighton – Derby to win
We start this week’s football accumulator bet in the Championship. After last season’s flirt with relegation few would have predicted that Brighton would be unbeaten and top of the league just two weeks before Christmas. Despite this fine start I am still not sure about their promotion credentials. There is no doubt that they are a resilient side under manager Chris Houghton but they have yet to win a match by more than one goal and this may be a match too far for the Seagulls. Derby have arguably the best squad in the league and are looking stronger every week under Paul Clement. They have lost just once in 14 and now sit just four points behind their opponents. This should be a cracking match to kick off our accumulator tip and Derby should be strong enough to take all three points.
Middlesbrough v Birmingham – Middlesbrough to win
The fight for promotion to the Premier League looks more competitive than ever this term and both of these two clubs will hope to be in the mix in May. Until recently Birmingham were having a strong campaign but a run of three straight defeats has seen the Blues slip out of the play-off places. They face a Middlesbrough side who currently find themselves second in the table after a run of six victories in seven matches. Manager Aitor Karanka has built his side around a strong defence. In those previous six wins they conceded just a single goal. The Championship is unpredictable as always but with these two teams in the form that they are in at present I can only see one winner and that victory should take Middlesbrough to the top of the table.
Doncaster v Crewe – Doncaster to win
We continue this week’s accumulator tip in League One. Crewe have had a very tough season up until two victories in their last two matches that have seen them climb off of the foot of the standings. They have given themselves hope of survival and now find themselves just one point from safety. The Railwaymen will be hoping to make it three on the bounce but may find that difficult against improving Doncaster. Rovers also had an awful start to the season. So much so that it cost then manager Paul Dickov his job. They turned to ex Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson and since then results have improved. They still have a lot to do to catch up to the top six but three points here would help them move that step closer and into the top half.
Oldham v Millwall – Millwall to win
These two clubs have very different priorities for the remainder of the campaign. After relegation from the Championship in May Millwall struggled to find their feet in League One winning only one of their opening five games. Since then they have found some consistency and look a real threat to the teams around and above them. They have lost just two of their last nine matches and will be hoping to gate crash the top six this weekend. They travel to an Oldham side that are fighting to hold on to their League One status. The Latics have dropped into the relegation zone in recent weeks after just one win in six league matches. They also have the worst home record in League One. All this points to an away victory for the next leg of our weekend acca tip.
Peterborough v Shrewsbury – Peterborough to win
We finish this week’s football accumulator with Peterborough United. After a difficult opening couple of months to the season Peterborough have found their form under new manager Graham Westley. They have won their last four league matches scoring fourteen times in that period. Posh have also climbed into the top six and on this form few will be able to stop them. Shrewsbury have struggled since their return to this level. They sit just outside the drop zone and defeat here could see them drop into the relegation places for the first time this season. They have won just once in their last five outings and will need to be on top of their game to get a return from this one. Free scoring Peterborough should be too strong and bring home our winning accumulator tip on Saturday afternoon.
