Football Accumulator Tips
Getafe v Eibar – Draw
Starting in La Liga for our first selection as we ambitiously look towards a draw to kick us off. Both these sides started the season well and have dropped off alarmingly recently. Getafe now find themselves in 18th position and need to start picking up points soon. It’s their away form though that is letting them down, picking up just five points on the road all season. They have been much stronger at home where they have won six of their 15 matches and drawn four. Eibar haven’t been great on the road either and collectively these two sides have picked up just five points from a possible 48. It might be short on quality this one and could be a second consecutive 1-1 draw for Eibar.
Schalke v Borussia Monchengladbach – Schalke win
A home win in the Bundesliga as Schalke look to put last week’s disappointing 2-0 defeat at Hertha behind them. They face a side who have been hopeless on the road recently. Monchengladbach have lost seven of their 12 away matches this season and should struggle against a decent Schalke outfit. Although they’re a little unreliable this season, they’ve generally been strong at home winning two of the last three. They also drew with Stuttgart, who are one of the form teams in the league. Monchengladbach could only draw 2-2 with FC Augsburg, who have been poor at home this season and that will be a disappointment. The visitors are scoring plenty of goals – but they’ve been largely at home, with just 40% coming on the road.
FC Utrecht v Excelsior – FC Utrecht win
FC Utrecht will have been disappointed to give away a two goal lead at home last Sunday, but they can bounce back here. They were 2-0 up and appearing to be cruising to victory against a solid ADO Den Haag outfit, but they ended up only taking a point from the game. A setback perhaps, but not enough reason to desert them for this tie. They’ve only lost twice at home all season, both recently, to PSV and Feyenoord and they are tough to beat here. Excelsior have seen improvement of late, but barring holding Vitesse to a goalless draw, their best work is largely done at home. They’ve picked up just 10 points on the road this season and scored just 10 goals away from home. That’s enough to back against them here.
Rio Ave v Maritimo – Rio Ave win
Maritimo were in action last Friday night and I remember thinking they should win at home to Boavista. They were duly beaten 3-0 and the new manager effect has well and truly worn off. They failed to beat a relatively average Pacos Ferreira side before that and Nelo Vingada has work to do. They are in action on Friday night again and look vulnerable against decent home outfit Rio Ave. True, they lost here last time to Estoril, but the visitors have won three of the last five and were only just edged out by Sporting at the weekend. They’ve only lost twice in the last seven and have recently beaten Vitoria Setubal, Boavista and Academica. Maritimo’s only recent away victory came against a poor Tondela side, when they still managed to concede three times. Home win for my accumulator tip here.
Auxerre v Bourg-Peronnas – Auxerre win
It wouldn’t be a Friday night without a selection from Ligue 2. Auxerre are back at home after their wonderful away win at Red Star on Monday night. They face Bourg-Peronnas, who despite winning last Friday can still be classed as fairly out of form. They have improved though, picking up seven points from the last eight matches. Auxerre are unbeaten in eight home games and seven overall though. They are playing well and have moved in 8th. Back at home, they can get the job done here. They did recently draw with Nancy and Ajaccio here, but their opponents away from has been suspect all season and I fancy a home win.
Accumulator Odds – 47.5/1 with Betfred.
