Football Accumulator Tips 15th April
Brighton v Fulham – Brighton win
Both these sides have been putting together their own little unbeaten runs, but it’s Brighton who I have to favour at the AMEX for the first leg on this week’s accumulator tip. Chris Hughton’s side are still right in the mix for automatic promotion with many surprised by their stamina. An important 90th minute goal from Steve Sidwell got them all three points against a plucky Forest side, but back on home territory, they will be hard to beat. Fulham have improved and have dragged themselves clear of relegation, but they still concede far too many goals. It’s no clean sheet in 14 away matches now and Brighton will surely have too much power going forward. It should be an entertaining game, but I think the Seagulls can continue to put the pressure on Middlesbrough and Burnley.
Lens v Ajaccio – Lens win
Lens haven’t always been the most reliable to back at home this season, but they should have too much for notorious poor travellers Ajaccio. Lens have picked up seven points from a possible nine at home and have conceded just twice in four home matches. They’ve lost just once in the last seven and that came away at leaders Nancy. They are decent shape as they look to improve on 6th place. Ajaccio are perfectly safe in 12th place, but it’s their home form that’s got them to that position. On the road, they’ve won just once all season and picked up just two points from a possible 12. Just nine goals away all season is a tremendously poor return and they will struggle to get anything here.
Laval v Evian – Draw
There’s a number of sides in Ligue 2 who are draw specialists and two of them meet on Friday evening. It’s five draws in eight for both of these sides with the home side failing to win in 12 and it’s now eight games and counting since Evian last tasted victory. Laval have something about them though as they recently held Lens and Dijon to draws when they visited here. These two sides have drawn a whopping 25 games between them this season and I think they could play out a low scoring affair here. There’s only three points separating them in the table and I think they are very closely matched. This won’t be the pick of the evening’s matches, but I think it will end all square.
Pescara v Cesena – Pescara win
It looks like Pescara’s poor run is over as they recorded back to back wins for the first time in a while last weekend. After losing five consecutive matches, they’ve now hit five goals in two matches beating Avellino and Como. 10 of their 16 victories have come here and they are solid enough to side with here. Cesena are a decent outfit as their position in the table suggests, but they are much better at home. 13 of their 15 victories have been in front of their own fans with only two coming on the road. The most recent was against a very poor Como outfit. They’ve only scored 13 goals away from home all season and that isn’t good enough to side with here.
Arka Gdynia v Belchatow – Arka Gdynia to win
A very short one, but this boosts our winnings by bringing the accumulator up to a five-fold. Arka Gdynia are the leaders of the Polish first division and they host a poor Belchatow side here. The home side have hit 12 goals in their last four matches here whilst the visitors have failed to win in any of their last three away games. Arka Gdynia have scored 44 goals this season whilst Belchatow have only managed half that amount. The home side should have far too much potency for the travellers.
