Football Accumulator Tips 13th November
Chesterfield v Sheffield United – Sheffield United win
A derby between two sides who are going in opposite directions in League One as Chesterfield host Sheffield United. Chris Wilder has finally got his side performing after a slow start. They have won five of the last six in all competitions and should be able to take another three points here. They are hot on the heels of leaders Scunthorpe and not far behind second place Bolton. Billy Sharp has been bagging the goals for the Blades, but he’s joined by the returning Matty Done and Leon Clarke this weekend giving them an embarrassment of riches in attack. Chesterfield can’t boast the same depth, but they have former Sheffield United hitman Ched Evans. In the league, they haven’t scored since the end of September and they’ve been struggling at the back too. They are deeply entrenched in a relegation battle with only Shrewsbury keeping them off the bottom. Danny Wilson needs some points here, but he’s unlikely to get them here.
Belgium v Estonia – Belgium to win & Over 3.5 Goals in the match
Belgium could only pick up a draw in midweek in a friendly with the Netherlands and they are missing a few players here. Vincent Kompany is not going to be risked and Toby Alderweireld has not returned from injury in time. But, they are still far superior to their opponents and at home they should get the job done easily. The likes of Eden Hazard and Yannick Ferreira Carrasco are playing well and with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Michy Batshuayi and Christian Benteke to choose from, it’s a frightening prospect for the Estonian defence. Estonia lost 5-0 to Bosnia recently and I believe it will be a similar scoreline here. Belgium knocked four past Bosnia and when they click they can be brilliant. They demolished Hungary in the Euros and should be able to grab a fair few here.
Bulgaria v Belarus – Draw
These two are locked together in 4th and 5th in their group and there isn’t much to choose between them and I think it could end all square. Bulgaria have never lost here to Belarus, winning their last two meetings. They beat Luxembourg here in their first group game, but recorded back to back defeats away at Sweden and France. At home in competitive matches, they drew with Italy and Malta, beat Azerbaijan but only lost narrowly to Croatia and Norway. Belarus are capable of pulling off a surprise every now and again, they won in Ireland, but were easily beaten by the Netherlands in their last away match. They’ve performed well in friendlies, beating in-form Greece and Norway. Belarus could be tough to break down and Bulgaria could find themselves frustrated.
Greece v Bosnia – Greece +1 Handicap
Giving Greece a goal head start here is our next addition to the accumulator. Greece have been improving under manager Michael Skibbe. The German boss took over in October 2015 and since then his side have beaten Hungary, Montenegro and Cyprus at home. They held Turkey to a goalless draw and beat Gibraltar and the Netherlands on the road and they will be very difficult to break down. They’ve won all three of their group games so far and conceded just a single goal in the process. They are level on points with leaders Belgium, but the Red Devils have a better goal difference. Bosnia lost heavily in their only away match so far, but have been better at home. Only Cyprus and Andorra were beaten away in competitive matches recently and I believe they will struggle to take all three points.
Verona v Novara – Verona win
Verona are the leaders in Serie B and are in decent form coming into this. They have won four of their last five games and should be able to see off Novara, who come here off the back of two defeats. Novara have lost every single away match this season and facing the leaders is a daunting prospect. Verona have won three of their last five home games to nil and conceded just four goals here all season. Novara have picked up just two wins in their last five, but both of them have come at home and they are much weaker on their travels. Novara haven’t won any of their last three visits here.
