Blackburn v Millwall – Both Teams to Score? Yes

Blackburn have nothing to play for, but their match against Forest looked far from an end of season stroll in the sun. Rudy Gestede increased his speculated transfer fee with a commanding frontman performance and there were goals and defensive errors littered throughout the 90 minutes. There is a lot more riding on this for Millwall as this is their chance to put some pressure on Brighton and Rotherham. The Lions can only catch the two aforementioned teams, but this game in hand will go a long way to determine which division they play their football in next season. With the shackles off for the home side as they have been for a few weeks, they’ve scored 8 goals in their last 4 league games and with the away side desperate for points, I can this one having goals

 

Bayern Munich v Porto – Over 2.5 goals

Fairly short odds for this one, but Bayern need to get goals to avoid being knocked out of the Champions League earlier than many would have expected. They found themselves 2 behind early on and from then on, it was always an uphill task. Porto were impressive on home soil and they will be determined to take a scalp here. As a result, with Bayern committing men forward, there is always the possibility of Porto hitting them on the break. This should lead to a few goals in the game.

 

Rochdale v Leyton Orient – Rochdale win

Leyton Orient felt the full wrath of MK Dons at the weekend. When the Dons are in full attacking flow, they are imperious, irresistible and very easy on the eye. Leyton Orient now face a trip to Spotland against a Rochdale team who imploded against Gillingham at the Priestfield. They are a different prospect at home though and although they are playing pretty much for pride and look unlikely to catch Chesterfield for 6th place, they won’t let their guard down here. Leyton Orient need the points, but too often they are carved open defensively and with the likes of Ian Henderson finding form and Peter Vincenti always a danger, they are unlikely to pick up points in the North West.

 

Bury v Southend – Under 2.5 goals

Daniel Bentley’s new club record last week typifies Southend’s season In that defensively they have excellent. They keep clean sheets, they don’t make silly errors and they often nab a goal or two in the process. You will find them at the bottom of the table. The bottom of the Over 2.5 table that is. They have partaken in an incredible 32 games that have fallen under that mark this season, with just 11 featuring more than 3 goals. Bury aren’t exactly freescoring either and with both sides needing the points and jostling for positions in the play offs, this one could be tight.

 

Notts County v Preston – Preston win

It’s a crucial night in the League One promotion shake up as all 3 of the teams involved in the scrap for 2nd place are in action. The team who have arguably the easiest fixture is Preston. Although away from home, they should be able to see off a Notts County side, who look increasingly likely to be starting life in League Two next season under Ricardo Moniz. They’ve drawn 4 of their last 5 games, but seem unable to find the winning formula and may pay the penalty here. Preston couldn’t see off Port Vale and perhaps nerves are starting to kick in, but they should get 3 points at Meadow Lane.
