Football Accumulator Tips Tonight:

Brentford v Blackpool – Brentford win

The Bee’s got a superb win against Bournemouth at the weekend, proving that they won’t become unsettled by the news of manager Mark Warburton’s summer departure. They were clinical and slick, but helped slightly by referee Mike Dean, who denied Bournemouth a penalty. Blackpool roll into West London off the back of two draws, but the Tangerines are still 12 points adrift at the bottom of the table. Their defence struggles to cope with pace and with Andre Gray flying at them, ably assisted by the incisive skill of Alex Pritchard and Jota, they will struggle to pick up anything at Griffin Park. Brentford need the points to keep up with the teams above them and they should get them here.

Wolves v Fulham – Wolves win

When looking at the table at the weekend, I was surprised to see how close to the relegation zone Fulham are. I had assumed that Kit Symons has steered the Cottagers clear of any danger, but they have slipped back towards the trap door, although they still have a comfortable cushion on their weekend opponents Millwall. Wolves thumped Rotherham 5-0 at the weekend and they looked unstoppable going forward. Bakary Sako is back from African Nations Cup duty whilst Nouah Dicko and January signing Benik Afobe seem to be linking up well. Fulham have a poor record on the road, having only won 3 of their 16 games on their travels and Wolves should comfortably get 3 points.

Blackburn v Norwich – Norwich win

Who is Alex Neil? Most people cried when he was appointed Norwich manager on January 9th, but the former Hamilton boss has certainly improved things at Carrow Road. The 3-0 victory at Watford was the cherry atop some tasty recent form and I don’t see a reason why they should stop there. They have a very talented squad, many of whom would not be out of place back in the Premier League and Neil Adams was clearly not utilising this enough. Blackburn are pretty solid at home, but struggled to overcome bottom side Blackpool at the weekend and Norwich may have too much firepower for Rovers.

Scunthorpe v Barnsley – Scunthorpe win

I’ve been harping on about Scunthorpe playing well for a while now, but in Mark Robins, I honestly believe they have the right manager to move them forward. They have plenty of firepower in Paddy Madden, Gary McSheffrey and new signing Kevin Von Veen. They lost 2-0 at the weekend, but this was away to a Preston side who are hard to overcome at Deepdale. Barnsley are second bottom of the form table in away matches this season, only Crawley are worse off and they don’t travel well at all. This isn’t one of the longer journeys in the league, but I think the home crowd at Glanford Park will be celebrating come 10pm Tuesday.

Portsmouth v Tranmere – Portsmouth win

Something magical happened at the Abbey Stadium at the weekend – Portsmouth scored 6 goals! They haven’t had such a goal fest for 5 years. Their last glut being a 6-1 victory over Leicester in 2010. Matt Tubbs is a natural goalscorer and although struggles to cut it at a level above, he is superb in League Two. Jed Wallace is hitting form and they look good to take 3 points here against relegation threatened Tranmere. Before Saturday, they had only scored 6 goals away from home all season, so confidence should be high now that they’ve found their shooting boots. That was away from home and roared on by the substantial home crowd at Frattan Park, they should have too much for Mickey Adams’ side.
