Football predictions for Brighton v Nottingham Forest and football betting tips for Friday night’s Championship opening match of the new football season.
It has finally arrived! The new football season gets underway and it starts on the South Coast at the Amex Stadium as Nottm Forest are the visitors. Neither of these sides have made it into many peoples ante-post lists for promotion, but it will be a compelling match and a decent indicator of how things may pan out during the course of 46 games.
Football Predictions – Brighton v Nottm Forest.
Brighton have quietly gone about their business this transfer window and they must surely be aiming for a top half finish as a minimum requirement. They had a poor campaign last season, but some of the blame can be apportioned to the failed Sami Hyppia experiment. Under Chris Hughton, they have a manager capable of delivering and although he often gets labelled as negative, he will always approach games with a pragmatic attitude and his side should pick up enough points to meet their targets.
Chairman Tony Bloom is confident of a successful campaign and I’m intrigued by the signing of Tomer Hemed from Almeria (more of him later…), Liam Rosenior is a seasoned pro whilst there is an element of excitement surrounding Jack Harper, who joined from Real Madrid. If it’s a wise old head you require – look no further than Bobby Zamora who has just signed for the club on a one year deal.
Forest meanwhile have been quiet by their standards, but FFP has kicked in and they were unable to splash the cash as they would have liked. They still have a talented squad though and Dougie Freedman gets to wipe the slate clean and start the season afresh. Jamie Ward crossed the East Midlands from Aston Villa, whilst Matt Mills (whom Freedman has previously worked with) is added for defensive stability.
Brighton v Nottm Forest Betting Tip:
It’s a tough one to call for my football tips and it might be value to plump for it to end all square. I’ve no doubt that Brighton will be up for this, starting at home on a Friday night, they will be expecting a bumper crowd to get behind them. But Forest won’t go down without a fight and I imagine both sides would take a point at the full time whistle.
My first football prediction for Brighton v Nottm Forest is the match to end a draw, the best odds are 12/5 with Bet365 – register and use a £200 free bonus.
Anytime Goalscorer Betting Tip:
Sam Baldock really should score more goals for Brighton and perhaps this will be his season to shine. But it is the aforementioned new boy who I like to score during the 90 minutes. Tomer Hemed has scored three goals in pre-season and has endeavoured to continue his goalscoring form. He scored from the penalty spot against Sevilla on Sunday and with the Israeli likely to be on spot-kick duties again, he surely has to be the best football bet during this game. Brighton aren’t awash with goals, but if they are to get one, it will surely be him.
My second Nottm Forest v Brighton prediction is Tomer Hemed to score anytime, the best odds are 2/1 at Ladbrokes – register and use a £50 free bet.
Correct Score Prediction:
As it’s the first game of the season and I’m excited for the forthcoming campaign, I’m going to plump for a correct score tip. I think both teams will get on the scoresheet and I’ve already predicted it will end all square. Therefore, the obvious angle seems to 1-1. A point and a goal each for these sides.
The third betting tip for Brighton v Nottingham Forest is for the match to end 1-1, the best odds are 6/1 with Bet Victor – register and get a £25 free bet.
