Brentford v Sheffield Wednesday from Griffin Park should be a cracker. We’ve got the best three betting tips and predictions for the 3pm kick off on Saturday 27th August.
Sheffield Wednesday have hit an early season wobble and will look to bounce back here. Griffin Park is not an easy place to go and the Bees could come out on top.

Brentford Team News, Form and Preview
Both of these sides were able to rest up in midweek following their 1st round eliminations from the EFL Cup. For Brentford it gave them chance to reflect on a 1-0 defeat at Rotherham and calculate how to bounce back. They are stronger here though.
Constant speculation about Alan Judge’s departure haven’t helped matters, although the midfielder has not been part of the squad for some time due to injury. Brentford have been fine without the creative midfielder and it looks like the former Blackburn man will be finding a new home in the Championship.
The Bees are yet to concede at home in their two matches of the 2016/17 season but they can also boast a successful end to last campaign too. It’s 6 competitive games here since Brentford were last defeated. They’ve only conceded three games in that period too. Leicester loanee Callum Elder could get a run in the side after overcoming an injury. He claims he has big shoes to fill following Jake Bidwell’s transfer to QPR over the summer.
In further positive news for the club, Lewis Macleod could be fit to start following an injury hit campaign. Yoann Barbet continues to be sidelined though. Dean Smith is still looking to add to his squad before the transfer window slams shut. He’s confident he can add ‘one or two faces’ before the end of the month. Arsenal youngster Chris Willock is a name that has been suggested. The new signings have settled in well so far and they’ve recently added Emmanuel Ledesma on non-contract terms.
Sheffield Wednesday Team News, Form and Preview
Wednesday are unbeaten in three visits to Griffin Park, but they aren’t playing with any consistency at the moment. They enjoy coming to West London and will be looking to spring a surprise on Brentford. Fernando Forestieri-gate seems to have affected the squad, who tamely lost to Leeds at home last weekend. It’s two defeats in two for the Owls following a 3-1 at Burton.
They were outfought in the last couple of weeks and boss Ricardo Carvalhal will have to decide whether a combination of Barry Bannan and Kieran Lee provide enough steel in the middle of the park. You have to go back to the 2nd of April to find the last time that Wednesday won away from home. They beat Huddersfield that day, but have picked up four points from a possible 24 on the road.
The visitors have had problems at centre half in the last couple of weeks, but the emergence of Sam Hutchinson in that position has been positive and he played three games in a week. Tom Lees should be back to full fitness after a break in midweek. Almen Abdi and latest signing David Jones are also pushing for starts. Carvalhal has said he wants to add a left back to his squad before the close of the transfer window, but he is happy with his squad.
Brentford v Sheffield Wednesday Predictions
You can get a big price on a home win here in the latest Brentford vs Sheff Wed betting odds. I think it’s worth taking a chance for this weekend football tip. Wednesday just haven’t cut the mustard away from Hillsborough recently and after two wins without conceding, Brentford look the bet.

Wednesday have conceded twice or more in their last couple of games and I think they might do so again. Brentford offer plenty going forward and could be dangerous so get on over 1.5 Brentford goals which is my second Brentford v Sheff Wed betting tip this weekend.
Anytime Goalscorer Tip
Scott Hogan hasn’t hit as many as he would have liked this season, but hasn’t played a huge amount of matches in the last couple of years. The more games the striker plays, the more opportunities will come his way and I’m putting him for ward for my anytime goalscorer prediction in this match.
