BTTS Tips for Sunday 21st February

 

AS Roma v Palermo

As we saw in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, AS Roma are improving all the time under Luciano Spalletti and although it was disappointing that they lost 2-0, they will take heart from another terrific performance against one of Europe’s best. This should be a slightly easier assignment as they host Palermo at Estadio Olimpico. They’ve now scored 10 goals in their last four matches in Serie A and that is likely to continue here. They’ve netted in each of their last five home games and have scored 55% of their goals here this season. They face a Palermo side who sit in 15th and could probably be described as inconsistent. They do score goals, but have problems at the back. They’ve netted in four of their last five games and scored twice away at Sassuolo recently. They’ve scored 10 times away from home this season, but four of those have come in their last four matches on the road. I think they’ll find the net against AS Roma, but the home side should take all three points.

 

Athletic Bilbao v Real Sociedad

Bilbao got an important win against Marseille in the Europa League on Thursday night and it’s a crucial lead to take back to Spain with them for the second leg. They are pretty strong here at home and they should find the net once more as they host Real Sociedad. Although their opponents have only conceded a single goal in three games, they have been playing lowly ranked Granada and the hopelessly out-of-form Espanyol. Bilbao scored twice against Real Madrid recently and hit five at home here against Eibar not so long ago, so they have plenty of goals in them. Adruiz is always a threat and likely to unlock the Sociedad defence. Although stronger at home, Sociedad have found their shooting boots recently having hit five at Espanyol and then another three on Monday night against Granada. They’ve scored in their last eight games and in their last five away games and should make a game of it here.

 

Lille v Lyon

Off to Ligue 1 for this selection on the BTTS tip and Lyon have hit form once again with three victories in a row. They have suddenly rediscovered their goalscoring habits of old and Alexander Lacazette has remained at the club and is fit and firing. They hit three in their last away game at Angers and followed it up with another four at home to Caen. That’s ten goals in three games now and they’re bound to find a way past lowly Lille. The hosts do tend to score at home though and have drawn plenty of their matches here 1-1. They’ve drawn four of their last eight games by this scoreline. They’ve only failed to score twice in the last eight, one of those being against runaway leaders PSG. They’ve scored 65% of their goals here and there are still some doubts over Lyon’s away form, so this one should have goals for either side.

 

Belenenses v Arouca

Our final game for the both teams to score tip comes from the Portuguese top flight as Belenense host Arouca. Both these sides have been going well of late with just four defeats between them in their last 16 games combined. The hosts come here off the back of a 3-2 win away at Moreirense. It’s no clean sheet in eight for Belenenses now though and they look for some stability at the back. Arouca can take advantage of that as they have been scoring freely of late. They’ve notched in each of their last 12 matches and in their last six away games. One of those includes a superb 2-1 win away at FC Porto. It’s seven goals scored in their last three matches for the visitors and I think they can definitely find a way past the home defence.
