Accumulator Tips for this Weekend:

Middlesbrough v Fulham – Middlesbrough to beat Fulham

It’s hard to believe that both these clubs have been Uefa Cup runners up in the past ten years but now find themselves battling it out in the Championship. Those glory days are long gone although ‘Boro are looking like a club who could return to the Premier League in the near future. Middlesbrough are having a year good season and currently sit in second place in the Championship behind unbeaten Brighton. They have won their last four home matches scoring eleven times and conceded just the once. Fulham on the other hand are struggling to find any consistency. They are in mid-table at present with manager Kit Symons reportedly under pressure to improve things quickly. That improvement may have to wait until next week as I fully expect Middlesbrough to gain another three points in their bid for promotion and get the accumulator tip off to a winning start.

Burnley v Bolton – Burnley to batter Bolton

Burnley are looking to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt and are in a good position to do just that. They find themselves in the play offs at this early stage of the campaign and will be looking to build on that good start to push themselves up to an automatic position. They have won five of their last seven outings and should have enough quality to gain another three points in this Lancashire derby. Bolton have failed to gain a victory away from home this season and I can't see that stat changing this weekend. The Trotters have had a poor start to the campaign and currently occupy a relegation berth. Results need to improve quickly for Neil Lennon and his team if they want to avoid finding themselves in the third tier of English Football for the first time since 1993.

Birmingham v QPR – Brum to rock Rangers

So far this season Birmingham City have been the surprise package of the Championship. Manager Gary Rowett has his got his side playing some good football and the Blues faithful are starting to think about a return to the Premier League. They have won their last two matches without conceding and will be hoping for a similar result against struggling QPR. Rangers are finding life tough since relegation in May. After a half decent start to the campaign they have won only once in their last five matches. They have the joint worst defence in the league and have conceded seven times in their last two outings. Birmingham will be looking to add to Rangers recent woes with a third win in a row to consolidate their position in the top six.

Fleetwood v Burton – Burton to win at Fleetwood

Just seventeen short months ago Fleetwood broke Burton hearts by beating them at Wembley in the League Two play-off final. Few would have predicted at that point that the next time these clubs met Burton would be occupying a promotion position in League One while Fleetwood look in huge danger of dropping back into the 4th tier. Burton have been the form team in England since manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink took charge in November last year. The Brewers have a 64% win rate in that time and will be confident of adding to that. Fleetwood have had a poor start to the campaign and have lost their last five matches. New manager Steven Pressley has been given the job of turning around their fortunes but they will struggle to do that this week against high flying Albion.

Crawley v Luton – Hatters to score at Hatful against Crawley

We finish this weekend’s accumulator tip with Luton Town. John Still's Hatters haven't had the start to the campaign that they would have wished for. Four defeats in their opening seven fixtures caused concern for the fans. However, they seem to have found some form now and have won four of their last five. They will be hopeful of adding to that positive run this weekend against Crawley Town. The Red Devils have themselves had a poor start to the season and their aim for the season must be to avoid a second consecutive relegation. They have improved in recent weeks winning two of their last three but they look short of quality and Luton should have too much fire power for them on Saturday and bring home our winning accumulator for this weekend.
