Saturday’s Accumulator Tips

Charlton to beat Sheffield Wednesday

Charlton were comprehensively beaten for the first time this season at Fulham last Friday night, but they are lot more solid on home turf and I can see them emerging winners here against Sheffield Wednesday. Bob Peeter’s side have been built upon a rock solid defence, which looked ropey for the first time at the Cottage. Wednesday meanwhile have been on a poor run and had goalkeeper Kieran Westwood to thanks for keeping them in the game and gaining a point last weekend. They haven’t looked the same team in recent weeks and a trip to The Valley isn’t the ideal trip for a team who are looking to regain form.

Watford to beat Millwall

It doesn’t matter who is in charge at Vicarage Road, Watford continue to pick up points. They currently sit 2nd in the division on the same points as table toppers Derby and 3rd place Wolves. Matej Vydra and Troy Deeney have rekindled their partnership of two seasons ago and they have an abundance of talented players around them. They almost beat Middlesbrough last weekend, but it was a decent point. Although Millwall won last week courtesy of a Danny Shittu header, they probably will struggle to pick up any points against the Hornets.

Chesterfield to beat Yeovil

Chesterfield have slumped since their early season promise and Eoin Doyle hasn’t been scoring with the same regularity, but they are a decent team and will have no worries about slipping out of the league this season. They may have lost 3-0 at home to a very impressive Swindon side but they can bounce back here against an out of sorts Yeovil side. Every time I have bet on Yeovil this season, they have done the exact opposite, but they have been woeful in recent week and that team spirit they displayed in the Championship seems to have deserted them.

Notts County to beat Walsall

Notts County have been flying of late and they are climbing the table under manager Shaun Derry. They are now sitting in 4th and they won with a late Zeli Ismail penalty last week. They seem unbeatable at the moment whilst Walsall have been terribly inconsistent all season. The Saddlers have been beset by injury problems, but the one bright spark has been Tom Bradshaw and they will soon have Sam Mantom and Ben Purkiss returning. However, I can’t see them getting 3 points here particularly with the firepower that Notts County possess.

Tranmere to beat Stevenage

Tranmere have been really poor this season but Mickey Adams has taken up occupancy in the Wirral and should be able to turn things around sooner or later. Poor travellers Stevenage are ideal opponents for the new manager to get his first 3 points. Armand Gnandouillet is a brilliant loan signing and I am surprised that Chesterfield let him go out on loan. He will set up chances and score chances at this level and I can see the improvement on the horizon.
