Real Betis v Granada Betting Tip – Real Betis win
We start in La Liga and I believe Granada are always worth opposing when they’re away from home. After picking up a point in their opening game, they have failed to win their remaining two and were pummelled in their last away fixture at Las Palmas. That will be music to the ears of Real Betis, who have now picked up four points from the last two games. They’re generally strong at home with just defeats here since the 3rd of January, the latter against Barcelona. They drew 0-0 with Coruna in the opening game here and followed it up with an away win at Valencia. All eight goals conceded have been on the road and I think they can remain solid here. Despite being outgunned by Barcelona, they still managed to score twice against them and I’d fancy them to pick up all three points here against a side who lost at home to Eibar last weekend.
Valenciennes v AC Ajaccio Betting Tip – Valenciennes win
We often dip into Ligue 2 on a Friday night and tonight is no exception. Valenciennes currently sit in 7th place with AC Ajaccio just four places behind them. It’s now three defeats in four for the visitors who arrive here off the back of a home defeat to Red Star. They’re clearly having problems keeping teams out with 8 goals shipped in the last 5 games. They face a Valenciennes side who are yet to concede in front of their own fans. All five goals conceded have been away from home and they are bound to make themselves solid and hard to break down. They drew 0-0 here with 3rd place Reims and beat Laval and 6th place Clermont so shouldn’t have too many problems with AC Ajaccio. They only lost twice in their last 13 games at home in Ligue 2 last season and looks like they are starting this campaign in a similar fashion.
Sochaux v Reims Betting Tip – Draw
Sometimes statistics are too good. This match is set up perfectly for a draw. Sochaux have drawn all three of their home games so far whilst Reims have drawn all three of their away games. 11/5 for the draw seems like the sensible pick. Both sides have overseen brilliant starts to the season and sit 3rd and 5th in the table. Reims have won three of their last five and have conceded just three goals this season. Sochaux have drawn four of their last five games and have conceded just four goals. What price a 0-0? Neither side have tasted a defeat this campaign and they’ll be desperate to continue that run here. Both sides are hard to break down and will set up stubbornly (in traditional Ligue 2 style) and I think genuine chances will be few and far between.
FC Utrecht v Groningen Betting Tip – FC Utrecht win
A quick glance of the form and both sides look like they’re in for a struggle this season, but I believe that FC Utrecht will turn it around and rise up the table. They have a squad capable of pushing for the top 7. They haven’t had much luck yet, but that should change here. Utrecht have lost their opening two home games, but they haven’t been easy. Opening against PSV wasn’t ideal and they lost 1-2 that day but out-shot their opponents on that occasion. A match here against 3rd place AZ Alkmaar followed and they were undone by an 84th minute goal. Away from home, they’ve picked up three points, which is solid form. Heerenveen, Vitesse and Zwolle are often strong at home. Groningen haven’t scored an away goal yet and were battered 0-5 by Feyenoord earlier in the season. On the road, they were defeated by Excelsior before holding PSV to a goalless draw, which is a decent result, but I don’t think they offer enough going forward.
Wexford v Derry City Betting Tip – Derry City win
Derry City are extremely hard to beat. They’ve only lost 4 of their 26 games and are battling it out for 2nd place with Cork City (also in action tonight) and will want the points against 2nd bottom Wexford. Derry were left frustrated last time out as they could only draw 0-0 with Galway. The opposition were extremely dogged that night and shut down their opponents quickly. Galway have conceded just 29 goals all season whereas tonight’s opponents have shipped a whopping 48. They come off the back of a run of two defeats and four losses in five. They’ve only won twice since the end of May and the last of those came against rock-bottom Longford. They’ve netted just 24 goals in 25 matches and shouldn’t offer much at the other end.
