Over 2.5 Goals Accumulator Tips

Aston Villa v Rotherham

Villa have some making up to do to their fans after a poor start to the season. After failing to beat Sheffield Wednesday, they blew it in the EFL Cup at Kennilworth Road going down 3-1 to League Two Luton Town. Villa have signed Ross McCormack to provide goals, he came close on Sunday, but was unable to open his account in the cup. He could find spaces in the Millers back four though. Rotherham have conceded seven goals in the space of 210 minutes of football. Admittedly it was a slightly weaker team which took to the field to face Morecambe, but they lost 4-5 AET and after a blowing a two goal lead against Wolves, it is something Alan Stubbs needs to address. They can also score, with Will Vaulks making the perfect debut last week, so the Villa defence might need to be alert here.

Burton v Bristol City

Burton were involved in a fantastic and entertaining game of football on Saturday as they went down 4-3 to Nottingham Forest. They pushed and pushed and could have levelled it at the death. They drew 1-1 with Bury before securing a 3-2 win in extra time on Tuesday. Lloyd Dyer has slotted into the side and provides plenty of width and they aren’t shy about coming forward. They were solid and hard to penetrate last season, but that went out the window on the opening day and they could find Bristol City a little lively. Jonathon Kodjia was rested in midweek and will be ready for this with Tammy Abrahams full of confidence after netting two in two since his arrival. Both of these sides should contribute to an entertaining, open game of football at the Pirelli and give us another winning leg of this weekend coupon.

Oldham v Walsall

Oldham shipped three to Millwall last weekend, but there were signs of life in the second half. They beat Wigan 2-1 in the EFL Cup in midweek and Ryan Flynn looks like the man to drive the Latics forward. Walsall got off to the perfect start with a 3-1 win over AFC Wimbledon and once again, they look like a side going places under Jon Whitney. Simeon Jackson netted twice as he regained his poacher’s instinct whilst Ehrun Oztumer craftily beavered away in the middle of the park. Rico Henry has a lot of potential likewise Kieron Morris. They’ll be hoping that new signing Andreas Makris can get off the mark soon. They will play on the front foot and although away from home, I think they’ll find a way past Peter Clarke and co in the Oldham backline. Oldham could also grab a goal here and it should be an entertaining affair.

Carlisle v Plymouth

Carlisle don’t have many strikers, but the forwards they possess can score goals. Charlie Wyke and Shaun Miller both scored in midweek and Jabo Ibehre, although streaky, has an eye for goal as well. They have signed some decent midfielders too. Nicky Adams will look to cause Plymouth problems whilst Reggie Lambe will often pop up with an important goal. The Cumbrians look a decent prospect this year and after a 2-1 win in midweek against Port Vale they take on last season’s Play-Off losers. Plymouth failed to score in their opening fixture, but the match reports suggest they should have found the target at least once. Derek Adams will be looking to put that right and they have players to do so. Graham Carey will once again look to run the show for Argyle and he could test the Carlisle backline.

Lincoln v Sutton United

It’s been a very good start for Danny Cowley at Lincoln as his side have been rampant so far. They’ve scored nine and conceded just two and sit top of the table after just a couple of games. They hit six against North Ferriby at Sincil Bank on Tuesday night and have plenty of firepower to see off Sutton United. Today’s opponents won’t be as easy with one defeat and one draw to their name so far (that was against Forest Green though) and they’ve scored in both games so far, so should be competitive, but I would Lincoln to net a couple here. Matt Rhead was much fancied in the goalscorer market pre-season and he grabbed a couple in midweek with the rest of the goals spread around. Both sides have scored in both the Imps games so far and the same with Sutton United.
