Norwich City vs Sunderland Predictions
Norwich City
After a run of ten games without a win, Norwich found a little form with a three match unbeaten run. They gained a credible draw at home to Manchester City and had consecutive wins over West Brom and relegation candidates Newcastle United. That run was brought to an end last weekend when they were unlucky to lose against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace in a result that, along with their 0-0 draw with Everton, probably sees the Eagles safe. With Aston Villa all but down and Newcastle looking likely to join them it seems it’s between Norwich and Sunderland who will finish in that final relegation place and that makes this an intriguing clash.
Alex Neil is without long term absentee Alex Tettey but is hoping Russell Martin will be fit to return. Fellow defender Timm Klose is a doubt after being stretchered off in that Palace defeat. Sam Allardyce has a fully fit squad to choose from other than Duncan Watmore who is missing with an ankle injury.
Sunderland
Sunderland just can’t seem to find a win from anywhere. Since they last picked up three points in mid-February at home to Manchester United they’ve not won in six, and though they’ve drawn four of those it’s victories they need and soon to stand any chance of ensuring their Premier League safety.
Norwich vs Sunderland Predictions
Neither side can afford to get beat here. Sunderland may be four points behind Norwich but they do have a game in hand over their relegation rivals, if they can win here then their Premier League future is in their own hands. If Norwich can win, they’ll go seven points clear of 18th place and Sunderland would face a huge task to stay in this division regardless of whether they win that game in hand. Calling this is very tough, a tight game is in store for us and I think this will end in the sides sharing the points. A draw for me and a low scoring draw at that. Both sides have tightened up defensively in recent weeks, Norwich have only conceded four goals in their last five games and Sunderland four in four. It’s at the other end of the pitch both sides have had problems. Despite that, it’s tough to rule out either side scoring so to cover myself I’m going for a combination correct score bet.
