Peterborough vs Coventry Betting Tips, Predictions and Preview

Peterborough vs Coventry betting preview and predictions for this Friday afternoon TV fixture in League One including a BTTS bet and anytime scorer tip.

Neither of these managers will be pleased with their side’s recent performances and will be looking for a winning start to the Easter period at London Road. We’ve got the best bets for this League One encounter.

Peterborough vs Coventry Betting Preview

Both of these sides arrive here off the back of a dreadful run of results. Tony Mowbray’s Coventry slipped out of the automatic promotion places and are now clinging on to their hopes of poaching a play-off place. Peterborough were looking upwards towards the aforementioned top six prior to their FA Cup replay defeat to West Brom. The Posh has since dropped like a stone, but they halted the slide with a victory at equally out-of-form Doncaster on Saturday.

Tony Mowbray has suffered a post-Christmas slump before and has experience at guiding his sides out of rut, but it’s been difficult for the former Middlesbrough manager. Luckily, his side sneaked past relegation threatened Blackpool and got a creditable draw with Swindon last time out.

There’s no doubt that his side have the personnel to push on and a terrific support to boot. Before the 3pm kick offs, Coventry have a two point gap to make up on Barnsley who occupy the much coveted sixth position.

Peterborough’s early season successes mean they aren’t involved in a relegation battle and a mid-table finish beckons. Chairman Darragh MacAnthony has declared he would exit the club at the end of the season if they fail to secure promotion. MacAnthony may as well start boxing up his desk-tidy and shredder as Posh look unlikely to make a last minute dash for the play-offs.

Tony Mowbray is looking to add some loan signings to his squad before Monday’s deadline for the end of season battle and he’ll be hoping that Adam Armstrong can find his goalscoring touch once more. The Newcastle loanee hasn’t netted since the 13th of February when his side thumped Bury 6-0.

Although the Sky Blues have been on a bad run of late, their away record isn’t atrocious. They lost to in-form Barnsley and Shrewsbury. The latter are unbeaten in eight, winning two of their last three home games and the former has shot up the table, losing just twice since the end of December.

Peterborough vs Coventry Predictions

Boxing Day was the last time that Peterborough won at London Road and I can’t back a side who have been so unreliable at home for the best part of three months in my football tips this weekend. Positives for Peterborough include Aaron Williams, who after signing for Nuneaton has scored two in two since joining his new club.

But, at the prices, Coventry seem worth backing on the Draw No Bet market. Although they haven’t been great, they did win their last away game and have more to play for than their opponents. My first Peterborough v Coventry prediction is for Coventry Draw No Bet. It can be backed at Evens with Paddy Power.

Despite embarking on a poor run of form, Peterborough have been scoring in the majority of their matches. They’ve netted in their last six games, but have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of them. They have goals in them, but there have always been question marks over their back four. My second Peterborough v Coventry prediction is for Both Teams to Score? Yes. It can be backed at 4/6 with Bet365 which are the best odds.

Nobody for Coventry has been scoring regularly enough to be backed, but we’ll put our faith in Aaron Williams as our anytime goalscorer tip on the match. Players on goalscoring runs are always worth backing and the former Nuneaton man will be aiming to make it three in three. My third Peterborough v Coventry betting tip is for Aaron Williams to score anytime. He can be backed at 11/5 with Coral.
