Real Madrid welcome Roma to the Santiago Bernabeu for the second leg of their last 16 Champions League tie and I have three football betting tips for this one.

Real came away from the first leg at the Stadio Olimpico with an excellent 2-0 victory. Roma should have had a penalty in that game and probably were deserving of a draw, but they were wasteful in front of goal whereas Real were much more clinical, and with Roma having to score at least three to qualify for the last 8 Real look certain to reach the quarter finals for the sixth consecutive season.
They'll be without Karim Benzema who is still out with injury, and there are doubts over Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. Gareth Bale made a goalscoring return to action in the 7-1 battering of Celta Vigo and will be pushing to start. For Roma, Daniele De Rossi is out and there'll be late tests on Radja Nainggolan and Antonio Rudiger.
Roma have been in excellent form in Serie A. They've won seven in a row and sit third in the table. They've certainly got players who can cause Real problems, but I think to even win the game let alone qualify is a big ask. They have beaten Real at the Bernabeu before, the last win coming back in 2008, and Real don't have a great record against Italian sides, losing each of their last eight two-legged affairs against Italian opposition but I think even 2-0 is too big a hurdle to overcome, particularly as Real have won 28 of their last 33 Champions League games at home. I am predicting Roma will score but Real will win this second leg. My first Real Madrid vs Roma prediction is for Real Madrid to win and both teams to score.

Despite problems in the Real Madrid camp this season, and a change of manager, they've been excellent in the Champions League. They're unbeaten in the competition, and are the leading goalscorers along with Bayern Munich having scored 21 goals so far. They're in decent form too, their only loss in the last 11 games coming in the Madrid derby. Since then they beat Levante and last weekend came the thrashing of Celta. Cristiano Ronaldo scored four in that one and he scored the first in the first leg taking his tally to 12 goals in seven Champions League games. Whilst I don't think Roma are pushovers, I think Real could score a few here for my Champions League predictions.
