Aitor Karanka slammed the performance of his players following their 2-1 loss at Ewood Park on Tuesday night. His side found themselves 2-0 down thanks to strikes from Hope Akpan and former Boro youth product Danny Graham. Adam Forshaw struck deep in injury time to salvage something from the match and give the Teessiders faint hope of a late comeback, but it wasn’t to be.

Middlesbrough should have won this league by now with the squad they possess, but for all their firepower they haven’t scored as regularly as their fans would have expected. I do think Middlesbrough will bounce back. Blackburn are a bit of a bogey team for them and they created plenty of opportunities, they just need to be a little more clinical.
