West Ham United travel to Championship strugglers Blackburn Rovers for Sunday's FA Cup Fifth Round tie and I have three football betting tips for this one.

 

Blackburn vs West Ham Predictions

 

Blackburn go into this one having put an end to a nine match winless run in the league on Tuesday night when they comfortably beat fellow strugglers Fulham. Rovers haven't been conceding many but they've not been scoring many either, the 3-0 victory over the Cottagers was the first time since early December they've scored more than once in a league game. In this competition, though, they've scored 5 in two, though those matches came away at lower league opposition in Newport County and Oxford United.  This game, of course, will be a much sterner test for Paul Lambert and his men.

 

West Ham made it to the Fifth Round after a 120th minute winner from Angelo Ogbonna saw them get past Liverpool in the most dramatic of styles. They sit sixth in the Premier League after an impressive start to life under Slaven Bilic and they'll fancy their chances of winning this FA Cup competition. They've been inconsistent of late though, winning three, drawing two and losing two of their last seven and haven't won any of their last three away games. Last time out they came from 2-0 down away at Norwich to draw 2-2 and arguably should have won the game with the chances they had at the end (though I'm not complaining as I tipped the 2-2 draw at 15/1…).

 

As well as at the back, the Hammers have somewhat of an injury crisis up front for their starting XI against Blackburn. Both Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia picked up injuries in the draw at Carrow Road and miss this one and Diafro Sakho is still out so Emmanuel Emenike could make his first start for the club. Winston Reid and James Tomkins are also missing but Manuel Lanzini could be fit to return.

 

Blackburn will have to be without loan striker Danny Graham, who scored his first goal for the club in that win over Fulham, he is cup tied but Jordi Gomez is available and is one of Blackburn’s danger men. He's fitted in well at Ewood Park and his creativity could cause the depleted West Ham defence problems.

 

Gomez is definitely one to watch in this one but I doubt Rovers will do enough to progress. Despite West Ham's inconsistencies of late and their injury problems I think they'll have enough to see off Blackburn. Won't be easy but it's the West Ham win for my FA Cup betting tips. You can get the Hammers at 13/10 for the win, not too bad a price for a Premier League club against lower league opposition, but a better bet is the away side to win and both teams to score.

West Ham may be missing a few up top but nevertheless they're still strong going forward. Dimitri Payet has had everyone raving about him and is without doubt the away side's biggest threat but with the return of the skilful Lanzini and with Emenike, who should have scored against Norwich, probably starting as well as Michail Antonio West Ham have plenty to cause Blackburn problems.
