As we all know, Watford had a great start to the season. In fact, they've gained more points at this stage of the season than any other promoted side since Birmingham City in the 09/10 season (little stat for you there). They had a slight case of the post-Christmas blues, losing four league games in a row, but a 2-1 win over Newcastle saw them get back to winning ways.

 

Since Guus Hiddinks' arrival there's more to be optimistic about for Chelsea. They're on a nine game unbeaten run in all competitions and whilst they could only pick up draws at home to West Brom and Everton they've shown more resilience and confidence in their play. Whilst everyone wanted to play them before Christmas, they're increasingly becoming a tougher side to face now.

 

Both sides made their way into the Fifth Round of the FA Cup. Watford secured a 1-0 win away at Nottingham Forest and Chelsea eased past MK Dons with an emphatic 5-1 victory. They both head into this with confidence and it's tough to pick a winner between these too. So I'm not. I'm getting on the draw.

For Chelsea Willian should be fit to play after picking up a foot injury. He should start along with Eden Hazard and the rejuvenated Diego Costa. Alexandre Pato has completed his move and could play a part in this one.

 

Watford have some good players throughout the side, but of course the front two of Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo have been grabbing all the headlines this season. Deeney has created 26 goalscoring chances for his strike partner so far and has assisted goals from six of them. Ighalo has been superb, and has excellent form at home in particular. He's scored seven in his last seven games at Vicarage Road and I'm going for him to score anytime in this one. Ah but there's a twist…. with Costa looking more like the player of his first season in the Premier League and having scored three in his last four League games I'm getting on both Costa and Ighalo to score in this one.

Both teams will score in this. Despite Chelsea's upturn in form, they do look troubled at the back and up against the duo of Deeney and Ighalo I think they'll concede at least once.
