Everton have been one of the most entertaining sides to watch for a neutral viewer this season. They score and concede goals for fun and most games they have are a very good watch. For their fans it’s been the second consecutive season in a row of disappointment. 11 draws and just five wins all season isn’t good enough for the squad they have amassed, as their fans begin to worry how long they’ll keep hold of their star players while enduring such mediocrity.

 

It’s a similar situation with the Newcastle fans, poor results coupled with poor signings have once again spread doom and gloom over the North East of England.  They find themselves perilously placed in 18^th in the Premier League, however their signings at the end of the January window will breed confidence. Steve McClaren spent more than anyone in this transfer window, bringing in Andros Townsend, Jonjo Shelvey, Henri Saivet and also Seydou Doumbia on loan. This will bolster them in midfield and attacking areas, though defensively I would still worry about them.

 

As strange as it seems given each teams positions in the table, it’s Everton who will consider this a must win game, as they need to quickly return Goodison Park to the fortress it used to be in Martinez’ first season in charge. For my football betting tips I believe Everton will win, but I can see Newcastle getting a goal, especially with their new additions and Ayoze Perez being buoyed by signing a new five year contract.
