Watford v Chelsea Tip

Anybody who witnessed Chelsea against Watford on Sunday can see why I have chosen this one. Albeit there will be line-up changes, but Chelsea were so open! They looked like they could score at any given moment and Hazard even found the net! Oscar looked back to his best and Costa looks more interested than under Mourinho. They have scored nine goals in their last five matches in the league and I think they’ll find a way past Watford. It’s no clean sheet in six for the Hornets now and they also always look a threat going forward. Odion Ighalo converted the one chance that came his way on Saturday against Nottingham Forest and they’ve made some interesting signings in the window. Chelsea are the 7th highest goal scorers in the league and this match ended 2-2 in the reverse fixture.

 

Lazio Roma v Napoli Tip

Napoli are still leading the way in Italy and they’re looking good value for it. A 5-1 thumping of Empoli at the weekend made it 22 goals in six games. They’ve not kept any clean sheets in that time though and that must surely be a slight concern. It means the games are always entertaining, but it might always be the best policy against the better teams in the league. Lazio are the visitors and they have been scoring a few themselves, netting four times in their last home game against Chievo. They’ve scored nine times in their last four matches and will surely give the Napoli backline a few questions to answer. The visitors have scored 14 goals in their last four away matches, so this one should be entertaining.

 

Palermo v AC Milan Tip

AC Milan can come here full of confidence after a wonderful display against their bitter rivals Inter at the weekend. 3-0 was as convincing as it comes and shows their goalscoring abilities. It’s eight goals in four games for the visitors and they must surely fancy themselves to bag a couple here. Palermo themselves have been in average form, but they’ve netted nine times in their last four home matches and must surely get on the scoresheet here. They have one of the weaker goalscoring records in the division, but 11 goals in eight matches isn’t bad and they should give AC Milan a few problems. Although they got a clean sheet at the weekend, they haven’t kept one in their last three away matches conceding five in the process, this Serie A fixture goes into our BTTS tip.

 

Lyon v Bordeaux Tip

Everyone tipped Bordeaux to struggle at the weekend after they had a spate of injuries and a number of key players left for pastures new during the transfer window. They answered their critics in emphatic style with a 4-0 win at home to Rennes. That makes it seven goals in three games now and they appear to be flourishing with an attacking style of play. That could give Lyon a few problems, who are still adapting to a new management regime. They are improving at home, but are very limp away from home. At their new stadium, they put four past bottom club Troyes before getting a creditable draw with Marseille, so they have goals amongst their ranks. Bordeaux are solid at home, keeping clean sheets, but they have been averaging almost two goals conceded away and this should give Lyon a sniff of finding the net.
