- FA Cup fixture – Carlisle v Everton
- Kick-off time – 1.30pm Sunday 31st Janaury
Carlisle United host Everton at Brunton Park for Sunday's FA Cup Fourth Round tie and I have three football tips for this one including a correct score prediction.
Carlisle United v Everton Predictions
Keith Curle's men go into this one on the back of four successive draws. That run includes the 1-1 draw in the FA Cup Third Round Replay at Yeovil which the Cumbrians eventually went on to win on penalties. They made their return home to Brunton Park after the devastating floods on Saturday in the draw with York City and what an occasion this will be with a sell-out crowd expected to welcome their Premier League opponents. Carlisle will be missing midfielder Luke Joyce who is suspended and Gary Dicker is in talks to join Kilmarnock so is unlikely to play a part.
Everton will be hoping they don't get knocked out of two cup competitions in the space of five days after losing the Capital One Cup Semi Final to Manchester City. With pressure mounting on manager Roberto Martinez, a good run in this competition could appease the Everton fans. How strong a side Martinez puts out is yet to be seen, Kevin Mirallas faces a late fitness test but James McCarthy and Seamus Coleman should be fit to play after coming on as substitutes at the Etihad and Tom Cleverly could make another start.
This is a tricky tie for the Toffees. Whilst Carlisle sit mid-table in League Two, they possess some good players who can cause Everton problems. One man in particular is Jabo Ibere. The striker has scored 14 goals in 17 games this season, and although he's yet to add an FA Cup goal to his name so far he's one that the fragile Toffees defence will have to look out for. Carlisle came oh so close to knocking Liverpool out of the League Cup in September, narrowly missing out on penalties, so they won't be overawed by the occasion.
Everton, however, should have too much for them. This trophy represents their last (realistic…) chance of silverware this season and nothing less than a win here will do. I think Carlisle to take the lead but Everton to come from behind and win is a pretty good shout and at odds of 7/1 it's definitely worth a go.
My first Carlisle v Everton prediction is for Everton to win from behind and the best odds for this betting tip are 7/1 at Paddy Power.

The Everton backline has come under scrutiny of late. With John Stones being played out of position and doing it poorly, along with Phil Jagielka's and Leighton Baines' loss of form, they can be got at. Conceding eight goals in the last three suggests there's a chance for the home side to get on the scoresheet. Despite this, Everton have only lost twice away from Goodison Park all season.
My next Carlisle v Everton betting tip is a banker, go for Everton to win and both teams to score at 9/5 with William Hill.

Carlisle v Everton Score Prediction
For my final tip, I'm going in the correct score market. Whilst I don't think this will be an easy game, I think the away side should come through quite comfortably in the end.
For my correct score tip on Carlisle v Everton I'm going for Everton to win 3-1. You'll get the best odds at William Hill who are offering 10/1.
